Companion Handbook and Passes

Aniimo’s battle pass has two names depending on where it is looked at, and confusing them is the commonest mistake made about it. In the storefront listings it is sold as an edition. Inside the game it is a pass tier. The thing that connects the two is an item called the Companion Handbook. This page covers the pass layer itself; the editions that sell it, with prices and regional equivalents, are on Pre-Orders and Editions.
Layer | Name | What it is |
|---|---|---|
In-game tier, lower | Premium Pass | Activated by the Advanced Companion Handbook, which is sold as part of the Advanced Edition. |
In-game tier, higher | Collector’s Pass | Activated by the Collector’s Companion Handbook, which is sold as part of the Collector’s Edition. One storefront listing also labels it a Path Pass. |
The item | Companion Handbook | The in-game item that activates a tier. Its rewards unlock gradually as the handbook levels up rather than arriving all at once. |
So a player who bought the Advanced Edition holds an Advanced Companion Handbook, and redeeming it turns on the Premium Pass. There is no separate purchase of a pass on top of the edition, and there is no free tier described in official material as of September 17, 2026 (UTC+8).
A Companion Handbook is tied to the version it is redeemed in. It stays active until the end of that version and then ends; it is not a permanent unlock. This is the single most important rule attached to it, because it changes when a player should redeem rather than whether they should.
The handbook’s exclusive Prismana Aniimo egg rotates with the version as well. Each version’s handbook carries a different Prismana Aniimo, so redeeming in a later version yields a different creature. A player holding an unredeemed handbook is therefore choosing a creature as much as a time window. See Prismana and Umbral Aniimo for what a Prismana Form is and Aniimo Forms for how Forms work in general.
The rules for holding more than one pass are published and they are not symmetrical: redemption items accumulate freely, active tiers do not.
Situation | Rule |
|---|---|
Holding several redemption cards | Allowed. A player can hold more than one at a time. |
Active paid tiers per version | One only. A single paid tier can be active in any one period or version, no matter how many cards are held. |
Unused redemption items | They never expire. Anything not redeemed rolls forward to future versions. |
Upgrading Advanced to Collector’s inside one period | Costs a paid upgrade. It is not a free step up from one tier to the other. |
The practical shape of that: buying two handbooks does not double a version’s rewards, and it does not waste money either. The second one waits. Because unused items never expire and each version’s handbook carries a different exclusive creature, holding a spare card through to a version whose Prismana Aniimo appeals more costs nothing. The rule that does cost money is the upgrade path, so a player who wants the Collector’s contents is better off buying that tier outright than buying Advanced and moving up mid-period.
The published contents, as listed by the storefronts that sold the editions:
Item | Premium Pass (Advanced) | Collector’s Pass (Collector’s) |
|---|---|---|
Platform accessory | Yes, one | Yes, one |
Companion Handbook | Advanced | Collector’s |
Handbook-Exclusive Prismana Aniimo Egg | Yes | Yes |
Handbook-Exclusive Evolution Material | Yes | Yes |
Exclusive Doll | No | Yes |
Exclusive Avatar Frame | No | Yes |
Primegy Battery | No | Listed, granted immediately |
The exclusive egg is hatched at the Outpost Hatchinator and produces a Prismana Form Aniimo with Perfect Potential. The exclusive evolution material is used for that creature’s branching evolution, which is the one route to its alternate evolution outcome; see Evolution Lines. The Primegy Battery appears in one storefront’s Collector’s description and not in the other’s, so it is recorded as listed rather than as confirmed on both platforms.
The accessory that comes with an edition is a cosmetic item, and the game caps how many can be worn at once. The caps differ between a creature and its Pathfinder.
Wearer | Accessory slots |
|---|---|
An Aniimo | Up to 2 |
The player character | 1 |
Platform accessories are exclusive rather than additive, and this is the part people most often get wrong. A PlayStation purchase came with Fluffy Friend and only Fluffy Friend. An Xbox purchase came with Doggo Dude and only Doggo Dude. Buying on both platforms is the only way to hold both, and the Xbox listings state the Doggo Dude exclusivity outright while naming no other accessory at all.
The pre-order campaign sold the Advanced Edition at $9.99 and the Collector’s Edition at $19.99, with regional equivalents recorded on Pre-Orders and Editions. One official English page writes the Advanced price as "$9.9"; that is a typo, and every storefront figure measured during the pre-order window read $9.99.
As of September 17, 2026 (UTC+8) the console storefronts no longer expose a purchase action for either edition. Both products are still listed under their pre-order titles, and both now offer only details, redemption and license actions, with redemption having opened at the launch instant. Codes already held can still be redeemed, but the prices above cannot be re-checked on those listings, and both products now report a list price of zero because the sellable offer has been withdrawn rather than because they became free. Treat the figures above as the pre-order campaign’s prices, in the past tense, until a storefront sells these editions again.
