Created Custo Turri article covering the parry-break shortcut and matchup notes
The Custo Turri is an enemy in Alabaster Dawn. It is a flower-like Nuemera with lacey petals that fold around itself like a shield.
It is one of the stronger regular enemies in the demo and is encountered several times as the main threat in a battle.
Type | Encountered | Level | HP | EXP at level |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Custo Turri | Koro Valley (corrupted) | 3 | 450 | 29 |
Custo Turri | Koro Valley (restored) | 6 | 490 | 27 |
Custo Turri | 8 | 520 | 26 |
Unlike the weaker Turri, the Custo Turri usually sits on ground level where Juno can reach it with melee.
It has a single attack: a large spike projectile shot directly at Juno. The shot is highly damaging and travels fast, but it is well telegraphed. Parrying the spike back into the Custo Turri breaks it instantly, which is the fastest way to skip the shielded phase.
With petals raised, the Custo Turri is very resistant to Blunt and Slashing damage, but slightly weaker to Piercing damage. It can be broken through standard attacks, but parrying its own projectile back is far more efficient.
Once broken, its petals open. It takes increased damage and stops attacking for a short window.
Open every Custo Turri fight by waiting at parry range. Reading and reflecting the spike is more reliable than chip damage through the petal shield.
If multiple Custo Turris share an arena, position so a parried spike crosses through the second target. The instant-break only counts on a clean hit, so angle matters.
In the Trial of Aether, Aether Aspect Panels can convert Bogha Solas shots to Aether, but Pierce is still the strongest matchup against the petals.
