44 Labels are placed from the Build menu under the storage section, the same tab that holds chests and beds. You mount a label on a wall or surface directly above a Storage Containers piece so you can read at a glance what each container holds during a fast turn-in. They are unlocked through normal early progression rather than a special recipe.

1313 Labels do not sort items automatically. They are purely visual guides for the player. To actually sort, you must manually move items into the labeled chests.

A standard Wooden Chest holds a generous slot count, and the cheaper Storage Sack and Storage Bale hold the same amount for only fabric and rope, so a labeled wall of mixed containers stays consistent.
