112233The Second Mural continues the Senkamati lore sequence begun in the First Mural. By this point generations have passed, the mountain city is emptying, and the speaker begins to entertain the idea that the curse itself may be the answer to their prayers.4455In-Game Text6677Twelve times twelve winters have passed since the Day of Great Sorrow. And still I walk the earth. The mountain city grows emptier. My people flee the past as a jaguar flees a torch.Last moon, disturbed by the curse, Yuknom rose from his tomb. We barely managed to lay him to rest again. Where he fell, the soil was blighted. Two of my guardians smeared their spears with his blood: one grew stronger; the other succumbed to the taint. We are afraid, but not without hope. The curse itself may yet be the answer to our prayers.88How to Obtain991010The Second Mural is a Senkamati lore item recovered from the ruins associated with that fallen mountain people. Like the other murals it is an uncommon find rather than a guaranteed pickup, so reaching it usually means exploring the relevant ruin sites thoroughly. It cannot be crafted or bought and has no combat or crafting value; it is collected to be read and to complete the mural sequence. Exact drop rates for the mural notes are not published in the current build, so they are not listed here rather than guessed.11111212Lore Significance13131414'Twelve times twelve winters' is 144 winters, marking 144 years since the events described in the First Mural. The Second Mural is the first time the lore names a specific risen Senkamati figure, Yuknom, and the first acknowledgment that the corruption can be turned into a weapon rather than only suffered.15151616The line about two guardians smearing their spears with blighted blood, one growing stronger and one succumbing to the taint, is the lore origin point for the divergence between Plague Hunters and Plague Thralls, the two opposite outcomes of contact with corrupted blood. It links the ancient Senkamati story directly to the Corruption the player encounters in the present day.17171818Read in sequence the murals trace a slow fall: the First Mural sets the catastrophe, the Second Mural shows the survivors beginning to bargain with the curse, and the Third Mural carries the story forward. The Scratches On The Altar is usually read alongside the murals as a later, cruder addition to the same site.19192020See Also21212222First MuralThird MuralScratches On The AltarSenkamatiPlague HunterPlague ThrallCorruption23232424Game Data25252626Item Properties27272828PropertyValueStack Size10Item TypeMiscellaneous (Lore)2929The Second Mural is recovered from Senkamati ruin sites.
