The large variant stands a full storey taller than the standard Pillar (Timber), so a single piece reaches an upper floor or a high roofline in one placement.

3232 Place a Large Pillar (Timber) where you need a tall single support: under a raised roof apex, at the corners of an open-sided dock or watchtower, or as a column inside a hall where a wall would block movement. Pillars snap to foundations and to beams in the same building system, so a frame of large pillars topped with beams creates floor and roof anchor points before any walls go up. For sturdier or higher-tier columns, the same slot can later be filled with stone options such as Pillar (Stone); for a rough early look, Pillar (Log) is an alternative. Keep load-bearing pillars inside the protected core of a base, since exposed supports take damage during combat and raids.
