It spans a wider gap than the standard Beam (Sticks) while costing the same single unit of Plant Fiber, which makes it the cheapest way to bridge a long opening or support an upper floor early on. As part of Pillars and Beams, it works together with stick pillars to frame multi level structures before you have access to timber or mahogany.
