Like the real-world dodo of Mauritius, the Coastal Dodo is approachable, slow, and unable to flee on the wing, which makes it one of the easiest food and trophy targets a new player can hunt. The bird drops Dodo Head, which is sold to faction Buyers and Tortuga vendors as a small Piastre payout, plus the usual feather and meat resources from the carcass.

The dodo's panic radius is short enough that you almost always close the distance before it can move out of range.Pistol or musket: overkill, but the noise can be useful when you intentionally want to draw nearby enemies. Otherwise, save the powder.
