1313 Bring the ship to a Shipwright-built Wharf, open the customization menu, and select the sail slot. Bloodflare appears in the option list once its design has been unlocked for that character. Applying a different design later is free and can be swapped as often as you like, so the scarlet set is a reversible choice rather than a permanent commitment.

1717 Bloodflare is unlocked by reading the matching Style Book: Brethren Sails Colors, sold by the Brethren of the Coast Provisioner. Brethren cosmetic stock is priced in Guinea, not Piastre, and the provisioner only opens its cosmetic shelf once your reputation with the Brethren of the Coast reaches the required tier. Reading a Style Book is a one-time action: the book is consumed but the design stays on that character permanently. Each player in a shared crew must read their own copy to fly the same sails.
