11Bean Sapling is a Seedbed-only farming plant in Windrose. Once mature it can be harvested for Beans and Beans Seeds.2233Properties4455PropertyValuePlants inSeedbedYields on harvestBeans plus Bean SeedsMax Health1,500DecayDoes not decay in inventory66Planting7788This plant only grows inside a player-built Seedbed. A Seedbed section is crafted with 5 Fertile Soil each and placed through the build menu under the Farming tab. Each section accepts up to four plants, one in each corner. Walk up to an empty corner with the Bean Sapling in the inventory and place it from the radial menu.991010Fertile Soil for the Seedbed itself is gathered from the ancient farms in the Foothills, so a working bean farm depends on progress through that region as much as on the saplings themselves.11111212Bean Sapling is obtained by harvesting wild Beans plants in the world. Wild bean plants grow at ruins with flowerbeds inside the Cursed Swamps, a region that opens once the Foothills boss is defeated, so beans are a mid-game crop rather than a starter one. There is no vendor that sells seeds or saplings, so the first stack of any plant has to be foraged.13131414Growth and Harvest15151616Plants in Windrose take roughly 70 minutes of real time to grow to full size. Growth continues while the player is offline, so a freshly planted sapling will be ready next session. When ripe, the plant changes to a fully matured model with a faint highlight on inspection.17171818Press E on a mature plant to harvest. The harvest yields the listed crop plus a fresh seed of the same plant, so a single sapling effectively reseeds itself with no net seed loss.19192020Notes21212222Beans appear in mid-tier stews and travel rations, both of which are easier to keep on hand once the player has a steady seedbed supply.23232424Food Uses25252626Harvested Beans feed several cooked dishes that buff a sailor before a fight or a long voyage. A reliable seedbed supply keeps these recipes affordable instead of relying on rare swamp foraging runs.27272828DishIngredientsEffectBean Soup1 Beans, 1 Cayenne Pepper, 1 MeatAgility buff with a timed maximum-health bonusBeans with Mushrooms and Sweet Potato4 Beans, 2 Lobster Mushroom, 4 Sweet PotatoHearty multi-portion meal for expeditions2929Tips30303131Always harvest the seed back. Walking away from a finished plant before pressing E does not consume the seed, but breaking the plant with a tool will.Pack a stack of saplings before sailing far. Harvested wild plants drop saplings inconsistently, and a small portable supply means the home base never runs dry of starter stock.Saplings do not decay in inventory, so it is safe to overstock and replant only as space frees up in the seedbed.
