Initial version (2026-10-13)
Wild Wild Eden began life as PROJECT SURVIVAL, a working title revealed at BitSummit Let's Go!! in Kyoto in July 2023. After about three years of development under that name and a change of engine, it was announced as Wild Wild Eden on 1 July 2026, with Steam Early Access planned for spring 2027.
Magnus Games Studio was founded in 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, by the brothers DC Gan and Welson Gan. It has about 40 creators and won the SEA Best Rising Star Award at LEVEL UP KL 2017. Its earlier monster-raising game was Re:Legend.
Name | Role | Organization |
|---|---|---|
DC Gan | Co-founder | Magnus Games Studio |
Welson Gan | Co-founder | Magnus Games Studio |
Masakazu Kobayashi | Producer | Shueisha Games |
Raycley Zhang | Assistant producer | Shueisha Games |
The game was first shown at BitSummit Let's Go!!, held at Miyako Messe in Kyoto from 14 to 16 July 2023, under the working title PROJECT SURVIVAL. A playable build was available at the Shueisha Games booth. It was also the first title supported by AMU, a developer support project run by Shueisha Games. Shueisha Games released a 41-second concept video for PROJECT SURVIVAL on its YouTube channel on 14 July 2023.
At the 2023 reveal, the player's mission was described as exploring an uncharted planet for resources in order to save the mother planet. The 2023 listing gave the player count as one player offline and 1 to 25 players online, the platforms as Steam and others, and the release date and price as undecided. These are historical details of the earlier build. They do not describe Wild Wild Eden as it is now; the current maximum player count is undecided, as covered on Multiplayer.
On 25 January 2024, a Steam post announced that Shueisha and Shueisha Games had entered a publishing agreement with Magnus Games Studio and were working closely with the studio to develop PROJECT SURVIVAL.
The development engine changed after the 2023 announcement. In the July 2026 press release, producer Masakazu Kobayashi said the game had changed greatly in both look and content since it was first shown; the English version of his message says "both its visuals and its core have evolved significantly." The name of the engine has not been disclosed as of October 2026.
On 1 July 2026, Shueisha Games announced the official title, renewed the Steam store page and opened wishlists. An official trailer and a gameplay trailer went up the same day; the Steam page lists them as the Cinematic Trailer and the Gameplay Trailer. The press release set the launch as Steam Early Access from spring 2027 and described the game as an open-world survival crafting RPG.
From August 2026, the game's own YouTube channel began posting short clips, including the Aidon Biography series introducing Cluk, Porcus and Krebbus, and Legend of Aidons: Episode 1, which introduced Chamelisk.
Under the new title, reports from Bilibili World 2026 in Shanghai (10 to 12 July 2026) described the Shueisha Games booth as the game's first playable showing. PROJECT SURVIVAL had already been playable in 2023, but that was the earlier build from before the engine change. The game then went to gamescom 2026 and Tokyo Game Show 2026, and passed 100,000 Steam wishlists on 27 August 2026.
