Chosen of Maldrakor are the hunters formerly called Changelings. The October 8, 2026 update renames them and changes their behavior to make them a third party in fights.
Tracking and hiding
Chosen can sense player activity, especially noise, without knowing a player's exact position. Players can still hide in grass. They stalk across the map, and additional audio cues allow players to hear them approaching.
October encounter changes
The update revises Chosen spawning, difficulty scaling, movement, and interactions with hazards and cursed items. Chosen respond more readily to player activity and dynamic world events. Early encounters are limited to reduce the risk of several Chosen overwhelming players.
