Aliona Baranova is a British actress and motion capture director who voices Mordred in Tides of Annihilation. She is known for her motion capture direction on Baldur's Gate 3 and her roles in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Career

Baranova's background spans both traditional acting and motion capture work. As a mocap performer, her credits include Barbie and The Matrix Resurrections. Her television and film work includes Maternal (ITV, 2023), Missile from the East (Sky), and Moonflower Murders (BBC, 2024).

Baldur's Gate 3

Baranova spent four years working on Baldur's Gate 3 as a performance director for Larian Studios and PitStop Productions. She directed motion capture sessions for hundreds of characters across the game. She also provided voice acting, playing Corinna and Xeph among other roles. It was during BG3's production that she met Jennifer English, who was performing Shadowheart.

Other game roles

In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (2025), Baranova voices three characters: Marie, Estelle, and Ulysse. She is represented by Harvey Voices for voice acting work.

Role in Tides of Annihilation

Baranova voices Mordred, one of the game's principal antagonists. In gameplay footage, Mordred and Gwendolyn exchange sharp dialogue during their boss fight in the Mirror Space Folded Realm. The casting of Baranova opposite her partner English adds a personal dynamic to the adversarial relationship between the two characters.
