Release and Platforms

Initial version (2026-09-12): 2027 target, four platforms, language and audio split, store features, system requirements and dated availability gaps
Tianji: Shadow of the Ancients was revealed on 8 September 2026 and targets a 2027 release. It is planned for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and is developed and self-published by Justdan International Co., Ltd.
The target is 2027. No month, quarter or season has been given on any official surface: the developer's own specification blocks state the year and nothing narrower. The PC store listing is still marked as coming soon with the date shown as to be announced. A stated year alongside an undated store listing is not a contradiction, it is simply a listing that has not been dated yet.
Platform | Standing |
|---|---|
PC (Steam) | Announced. The store listing is live with a 2027 target and an undated release field. |
PlayStation 5 | Announced in the developer's own platform block. |
Nintendo Switch | Announced in the developer's own platform block. |
Nintendo Switch 2 | Announced in the developer's own platform block. |
Two clarifications on that list. The PC store listing marks only Windows in its operating-system fields, which describes the PC build rather than the game's platform lineup, so the game should not be described as PC only. And as of 12 September 2026 no Xbox version had been announced on any official surface, with the developer's own platform blocks in three languages listing the four platforms above.
The developer's specification block lists subtitles in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English and Japanese, with voice work in Chinese and Japanese. The store listing's language flags match.
Language | Subtitles | Full audio |
|---|---|---|
Traditional Chinese | Yes | No |
Simplified Chinese | Yes | Yes |
English | Yes | No |
Japanese | Yes | Yes |
Korean is not a supported language, even though a Korean version of the store page renders. One hands-on account reports that the Chinese voice work covers the main story and the large side-quest volume rather than story scenes alone, and notes the game's text runs to roughly 80,000 to 90,000 characters for the main story and 130,000 to 140,000 including side quests. The reveal trailer's narration is in Mandarin; automatic dubbing on video platforms can overlay an English track over it, which is not an English voice option in the game.
Nothing rules out more languages being added before a 2027 release, but as of 12 September 2026 the four above are the whole supported set.
The PC store listing carries eleven category entries.

Playable without Timed Input
The last of those is worth stating carefully. The listing marks the game as playable without timed input, while both hands-on accounts of the preview build describe timed guard inputs during battle. Both statements stand as given: the timed inputs are evidently optional or have a non-timed path around them, but no published statement explains how the two sit together. See Combat for what those inputs do.
The following are the PC requirements published by the developer, identical across every language edition of the store listing. Note that both tiers ask for the same 20 GB of storage and the same 64-bit Windows 11.
Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
Operating system | Windows 11 (64-bit) | Windows 11 (64-bit) |
Processor | AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or Intel Core i5-6400 | AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel Core i5-12400 |
Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
Graphics | AMD Radeon RX 470 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 |
DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
Storage | 20 GB | 20 GB |
Sound | DirectX-compatible sound card | DirectX-compatible sound card |
No requirements have been published for the console versions, and no performance targets, resolution or frame-rate figures exist for any platform.
As of 12 September 2026, four days after the reveal, the following were all absent. Each is a four-day-old absence on a newly revealed game rather than a settled fact.
No price on any storefront.
No public demo and no playtest build. The only playable version so far was shown behind closed doors at a Shanghai showcase on 1 September 2026.
No downloadable content, no special or deluxe editions and no pre-orders.
No posts at all on the PC store listing's news hub, checked in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese.
