Overview

The Master leads the Star Fall Society and is Cheng's primary mentor on his path to becoming the God Slayer. Pathea describes him as wise and enigmatic, the figure who gathers scattered resistance fighters into a force capable of challenging the gods. He is himself an Elemancer, schooled in the Qi arts the Celestials tried to stamp out. Pathea has not said whether he lived through The God Fall himself, nor detailed what he teaches Cheng or how that training is structured.

Background

The Master is an Elemancer who survived The God Fall, one of the few to escape the Celestials' purge of human practitioners. His knowledge of the old world and the Elemancer traditions predating the massacre makes him an invaluable repository of lost techniques and history. This survivor status also explains his caution: he has seen firsthand what the Celestials do to those who resist.

Role in the Star Fall Society

Beyond training Cheng, The Master directs the Star Fall Society's broader strategy. His decisions about which targets to strike, which allies to court, and how aggressively to confront the Celestials shape the resistance's trajectory. As Cheng grows more powerful, tensions may arise between the Master's cautious approach and Cheng's increasing willingness to confront the divine hierarchy directly.
