TARAE: The Unbound does not have a release date. Every storefront listing for the game reads as unannounced, and neither Boundary nor KRAFTON has committed to a public launch window in writing. What follows is what is actually confirmed, separated from what is only a stated target.
Platforms
Three platforms were named in the announcement and have been repeated in every listing since: PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PC version is listed on Steam under app 4604540. Coverage of the reveal briefings additionally listed the Epic Games Store as a second PC storefront, but it is the weakest of the platform claims on this page: it comes from coverage of the briefings rather than from any storefront or announcement, and as of 12 September 2026 the Steam listing is the only PC storefront page confirmed to exist. A PlayStation Store concept page exists for the PlayStation 5 version. No standalone Xbox storefront listing had appeared as of early September 2026, although the platform is named in the announcement material. There is no announced version for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, mobile or cloud.
Platform | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
PC | Announced | Steam listing live since the reveal week. A second PC storefront appears in coverage only, not in any first-party listing |
PlayStation 5 | Announced | PlayStation Store concept page live, marked coming soon |
Xbox Series X|S | Announced | Named in announcement material, no separate store listing seen |
Any other platform | Not announced | No statement either way |
Timing
The storefront answer and the studio answer are not the same, and it is worth keeping them apart. On Steam the release field reads to be announced; on the PlayStation Store the concept page is marked as coming soon with no date attached. Separately, in press briefings held around the reveal, the studio described a target of 2027 and said it intends a simultaneous release on PC and consoles rather than a staggered one. That target is a stated aim, not a dated announcement, and it has not been repeated on any storefront. Asked at the end of August 2026 what came after the show, the studio said it was concentrating on the gamescom build and had no concrete plan for the next appearance, so no public test, demo or storefront event was scheduled at that point.
Question | Answer | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
Release date | Not announced | Confirmed absence, listed as to be announced |
Release year | 2027 named as the studio target | Studio statement, not a formal announcement |

Early access or paid beta | No statement | Unknown |
Open or closed test | None scheduled when the studio was asked at the end of August 2026 | Studio statement |
Storefront Details
The Steam listing carries English and Korean as the supported interface and audio languages, with full voice support marked for both. Genre tags on Steam are Action, Adventure and RPG; the PlayStation concept page files it under Role Playing Games and Action. Feature categories on the Steam listing include single-player, multi-player, co-op and online co-op, full controller support, adjustable difficulty, save anytime, custom volume controls, playable without timed input, and family sharing. The published minimum and recommended system requirements are placeholder entries rather than real figures, and the studio has said the real specifications will be announced later.
The game does not have a standalone official website. As of early September 2026 the first-party surfaces are the Steam listing, the PlayStation Store concept page and the official video channel. Trademark and copyright notices on the PlayStation listing credit Boundary, Inc. as the rights holder, with KRAFTON, Inc. as publisher. For the wider picture of what the game is, see TARAE: The Unbound and Gameplay.
Pre-Release Appearances
Date | Event | What was shown |
|---|---|---|
25 August 2026 | gamescom Opening Night Live | Reveal trailer and teaser, first public look |
26 August 2026 | Publisher media day at gamescom | Studio presentation covering setting, classes and structure |
26 to 30 August 2026 | gamescom show floor, Hall 9 | Hands-on playable demo |
29 August 2026 | Official channel | Gameplay preview running roughly five and a half minutes |
The show-floor demo let players pick three of the six Seekers: the Samurai, the Tiger Hunter and the Geomancer. Every character was fixed at level thirty with gear close to top tier, so the build showed combat feel rather than early progression, and the studio noted that newcomers might find it demanding.
