11 How breeding works

33 Eggs and breeding are completely separate systems. Collecting eggs from your animals does not affect breeding in any way. To breed two animals of the same species, you need:

55 A male and female of the same species in the same enclosure.At least one open space in that enclosure.Both animals must be fed, clean, and happy. See Animal Cleaning for details.

77 If those conditions are met, a baby animal appears in the enclosure the next morning. You will not get a notification. Check the enclosure directly. You can confirm by managing the enclosure, where a thought bubble says a baby was born. Each enclosure allows one breeding event per day, and holds a maximum of four animals.

Unhappy animals will not breed.Use the Breeding House to isolate specific pairs when targeting rare varieties like Golden Chickens or Glazed Ducks.Baby animals inherit traits randomly, breed parents with positive DNA traits like Workaholic or Twins to try to pass them on.Babies must grow to adulthood before they can breed or be ridden (for mounts).Each enclosure allows one breeding event per day. Build multiple enclosures for parallel breeding.
