I want to prep properly before diving into the deeper Moonlit Forest zones. What are the must-have food buffs for combat? Currently I've only been using basic Grilled Fish but I feel like there must be better options.
Also, how many food buffs can you have active at once?
You can have 3 food buffs active at once (upgradeable to 5 if you find Spag items during Island Day on Spring 28).
For combat runs, the best options I've found:
- Chicken Stewed with Mushrooms: Battle Spirit buff (attack power boost, stacks up to 5x). Needs 4 Fowl, 3 Mushroom, 1 Salt. Make it on the Gas Stove.
- Grilled Mushroom Skewers: Great HP restoration. Uses Sunveil Shroom, Moondew Shroom, Mirthshroom, and Fine Salt. You can gather all the mushrooms inside the Moonlit Forest itself.
- Soup Dumplings: Forest's Gift buff (chance to recover ammo on hit). Needs 2 Meat Bites, 3 Flour.
Chicken Stewed with Mushrooms is the best combat food since Battle Spirit stacks. Bring a full stack of mushroom skewers for healing between fights.
One thing to note: there's a Nutrient Absorption skill in the Workpedia that increases the stamina you recover from cooked food. It has three tiers (20%, 35%, 48% boost). Definitely worth investing Starsand Points into if you're doing a lot of Moonlit Forest runs.
