Release Date and Platforms

Moved the release page to past tense for the September 24 launch and added launch-day notices, languages and the Steam Deck verdict
SILENT HILL: Townfall was released on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Konami announced the date on June 3, 2026, and opened pre-orders the day before at a State of Play. Buyers of the Digital Deluxe Edition got access 48 hours early, from September 22, and Konami announced the launch on September 24.
One storefront field is worth knowing about before it causes confusion. The US Steam store page lists the release date as September 23, 2026, a day earlier than every other source. The publisher's own announcement, posted on that same store, is titled around September 24, and Konami's press release specifies "Thursday, September 24, 2026." September 24, 2026 is a Thursday and September 23 is a Wednesday, so the storefront field is a regional display artifact rather than a real difference. September 24 is the release date.
The PlayStation Store set the unlock at local midnight on September 24 in each region, so the game did not go live everywhere at the same moment. Three storefront regions were read on September 15, 2026 and each resolved to its own local midnight.
Region | Unlock | Note |
|---|---|---|
North America | Midnight on September 24, local time | Shown as 12:00 AM on the product page |
United Kingdom and Europe | Midnight on September 24, local time | Seven hours before the North American unlock |
Japan | Midnight on September 24, local time | Thirteen hours before the North American unlock |
Buyers of the Digital Deluxe Edition started two days earlier. Steam carried an Advance Access module on that edition telling pre-purchasers they could play the game starting two days ahead of full release, which put Deluxe access on September 22. Steam renders its own dates one day earlier than Konami's, showing the release as September 23 and Advance Access as September 21, which is the same display offset described below rather than a different schedule.
The PlayStation Store also carried that early access as its own unlock time. Read on September 21, 2026, the Digital Deluxe product page in each of the three regions above resolved to local midnight on September 22, exactly forty-eight hours before the Standard unlock, and the edition's pre-order bonus list on that store named the 48-hour Early Access outright. On the same morning Steam's Advance Access countdown read a little over a day, which put its opening around 03:00 to 04:00 UTC on September 22 and agreed with the North American PlayStation instant to within Steam's rounding.
The two storefronts did not appear to unlock the same way. PlayStation resolved to local midnight in each region, so the game arrived at different moments around the world. Steam instead showed the same countdown to a single instant in every regional locale checked, which pointed to one global unlock rendered in Steam's own reference timezone. That is also the cleanest explanation for the September 23 date Steam displays.
No preload window was published on any storefront before release. The Steam listing, four regional Steam locales and six PlayStation Store product pages read on September 21, 2026 carried no pre-download date, no file size for the console version and no day-one patch note. As of September 27, 2026 the PlayStation Store still lists no install size, and no patch notes or version number have been published on any official surface.
On launch day Konami posted two notices on Steam. The first said an update to address performance-related issues affecting the Steam version was being prepared, with its release date to be announced; as of September 27, 2026 no such update had been released. The second said an issue that had stopped some pre-purchase and Deluxe Edition content from unlocking had been resolved, and asked affected players to exit the game, check their internet connection and restart the Steam app.
After launch the PlayStation Store switched both editions from pre-order to purchase and began listing cloud streaming for the game, supported only with a Premium subscription. Konami's Japanese launch release adds that the boxed edition is sold for PlayStation 5 only, with the Deluxe Edition download only.
Platform | Status |
|---|---|
PlayStation 5 | Confirmed. Carries the PS5 Pro Enhanced badge; see PS5 Features. |
PC via Steam | Confirmed. Windows only. |
PC via Epic Games Store | Confirmed. |
macOS and Linux | Not supported. |
Xbox and Nintendo Switch | Not announced. Every official storefront selector offers only PlayStation 5, Steam and Epic Games. |
The three named platforms appear together in Konami's press release, on Screen Burn's own game page, and on Annapurna's product page. PC system requirements are published for both PC storefronts. Controller support on PC is full, and DualSense and DualShock controllers are both supported. The Steam listing marked a gamepad as recommended before release and no longer does.
Xbox and Nintendo Switch were checked directly rather than assumed. A sweep of the Xbox storefront's own product listings on September 15, 2026 returned no SILENT HILL: Townfall entry, while returning a dozen other Silent Hill products, so the absence is a real absence rather than a failed search. No Nintendo listing exists either. Konami's own storefront selector offers only PlayStation 5, Steam and Epic Games Store.
The game is single-player only, listed as one player with offline play enabled, and there is no subscription or in-game monetisation. Family Sharing is supported on Steam.

The full descriptor lists, the official content warning and the posting rules are on Age Ratings and Content Warnings.
Konami published video and screenshot posting guidelines for the game on September 8, 2026, and those carry a content warning of their own: "The Game contains depictions of medical procedures and body horror, serious illness, overwhelming healthcare situations, and scenarios involving widespread injury, grief, and loss of life." The same document lets individual players post gameplay video and screenshots without asking permission first.
Type | Languages |
|---|---|
Interface and subtitles | English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Polish, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean |
Full audio | English and Japanese. The Steam listing marked Japanese as a full audio language between September 15 and September 21, 2026, catching up with the Japanese voice cast Konami announced on September 3. Until then English had been the only full audio language shown. The performers in both languages are on Cast. |
The Japanese title is サイレントヒル タウンフォール. Japanese buyers also get a set of retailer-specific bonuses, listed on Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses.
The PlayStation Store published no supported-language list before release. As of September 27, 2026 it lists thirteen screen languages and English as the only voice language, while the Steam listing marks both English and Japanese as full audio. Konami announced a Japanese voice cast and released a Japanese-voiced cut of the Launch Trailer, so the store's single voice entry should not be read as proof that the PlayStation 5 version lacks Japanese audio. Both storefronts began listing accessibility features in the week before launch; those lists are on Age Ratings and Content Warnings.
Steam's compatibility verdict for Steam Deck read Unknown before release. As of September 27, 2026 it reads Unsupported, with graphics performance given as the reason. See System Requirements.
