New Game Plus is a repeat-playthrough mode in SILENT HILL: Townfall. It opens once the game has been cleared, and it holds two of the game's five endings. The other three can all be reached in a first playthrough, so New Game Plus is not a requirement for seeing the main outcomes.
Detail | What is known |
|---|---|
Access | Available after clearing the game once. A Steam achievement for completing New Game Plus on any difficulty indicates the difficulty can be chosen for the run. |
Endings held | Two of the five. The other three are reachable on a first run. |
Additions | An axe that kills enemies in a single hit, plus unlockable outfits and weapons, per reviews of the released game. Described before release as designed to make revisiting the game quicker. |
Why It Exists
Jon McKellan has said repeat runs feature unlockable weapons and other additions meant to speed up a return trip, and to encourage players to deliberately change how they approach the game. That fits how the ending system works: it reads playstyle rather than a choice made at the end, so a second run has to be played differently to land somewhere different. How Simon handles an encounter is covered on Combat and Stealth.
What Has Not Been Published
No official list of New Game Plus unlocks has been published as of September 27, 2026, and neither Konami nor Screen Burn has explained what carries over from a finished save or how the two secret endings are triggered. Reviews of the released game confirm the two secret endings and name the axe as the headline reward; other unlocks are described only as outfits and weapons. One earlier interview referred to a single secret ending rather than two, which reads as a simplification of the same structure rather than a different count.
The weapons and items the game has actually shown are on Items and Inventory.
The design intent on this page comes from developer statements made before release, and the rewards from reviews of the released game.
