11 Aya is the younger sister of Chigusa Choko and the reason the story happens at all. She travelled to Neo Yokohama with Choko for Choko's film audition. Shortly after the two arrived, Choko was murdered by a group of mysterious men in black, and Aya was taken away by them. She has not been seen since.

33 The official story copy puts the whole of it in one question: "Who were the men in black who took Aya away?" That question is what sends Choko across the country once she returns from the dead. In the Chapter 3 slice of the build shown at gamescom 2026, the search is explicit: Choko climbs Mount Neo Yokohama specifically to look for Aya, planning to ask an NPC known as Granny Peace about her. Aya also comes up in a story cutscene in that demo build, where Choko thinks of her missing sister during a bathhouse scene.
