Initial special Pokemon reference article
Pokemon Pokopia features seven named special variant Pokemon with unique appearances, backstories, and exclusive specialties that no other Pokemon can perform. These characters are encountered through story events and play essential roles in gameplay.
See main article: Professor Tangrowth
A white-vined Tangrowth with broken glasses and a TM on its head. The last remaining Pokemon in the withered world. Has the exclusive Appraise specialty, making it the only Pokemon that can identify Lost Relics. Serves as the player's guide and primary source of world lore.
An unusually pale Pikachu with a smaller-than-average tail. Peakychu has the exclusive Illuminate specialty, which lights up the entire town when connected to a Charge Station. The player encounters Peakychu as a weakened Pikachu during the story in the Withered Wasteland.
Peakychu's backstory reveals a tragic origin: it drained its own electricity to heal sick Pokemon during the world's decline, permanently losing its yellow color. Despite this sacrifice, it maintains a cheerful demeanor.
A Snorlax covered in thick moss with a flower growing on its head. Mosslax has the exclusive Eat specialty: it accepts food in exchange for rare items and provides daily buffs that affect item and Pokemon spawn rates. According to its lore, Mosslax attempted to sleep off a bad mood and accidentally slept through the entire apocalypse.
A special Greedent with culinary ambitions, wearing a large cooking pot as a hat. Chef Dente has the exclusive Party specialty, which allows it to lead feasts, provide cooking bonuses, and increase meal output. Found trapped in a barrel in Rocky Ridges, rescuing Chef Dente is what unlocks the cooking system.
A Rotom that has possessed a stereo system, giving it a boombox-shaped form. DJ Rotom has the exclusive DJ specialty: it manages playlists built from in-game music CDs found throughout the world. Give CDs to DJ Rotom to create playlists featuring remixed Kanto themes by Junichi Masuda and familiar songs from 30 years of Pokemon music. Music playback is limited to one area at a time.
A vibrantly paint-splattered variant of Smeargle. Smearguru has the exclusive Paint specialty, which allows the player to change furniture colors and add decorative patterns to any crafted item. Essential for interior design and personalization.
A special Tinkaton (or Tinkatuff) with the exclusive Engineer specialty. Tinkmaster can lead major building projects, create Tinkgears from Iron Ingots, and reduce construction duration for Building Kit projects. Extremely valuable for late-game construction efficiency.
