11Overview22Smelting is the process of converting raw ores into refined ingots and other processed materials in Pokemon Pokopia. There are two distinct types of furnaces in the game: the Smelting Furnace for material processing and the Power Furnace (Generator) for producing electricity. A separate machine, the Concrete Mixer, handles Limestone processing in Sparkling Skylands.44Smelting Furnace66The Smelting Furnace is a crafting station that uses a Pokemon with the Burn specialty to heat raw ores into refined materials. Gather four Iron Ore and four Stone from Rocky Ridges, then build the furnace at a Workbench.4040Burn Specialty Pokemon4242Any Pokemon with the Burn specialty can operate a Smelting Furnace. To assign a Burn Pokemon to a furnace, ask the Pokemon to follow you (press A near it), then walk up to the Smelting Furnace. The Pokemon will automatically begin working once it is close enough. If you load Iron Ore, the furnace will continue smelting Iron Ingots until it runs out before you can switch to a different ore. To process multiple ore types simultaneously, build additional Smelting Furnaces and assign a Burn Pokemon to each one.5555Collecting Finished Ingots Mid-Process5757You do not need to wait for the entire batch to finish. Interact with the Smelting Furnace while a Burn Pokemon is still working and you can pick up the ingots that have already been completed. An arrow indicator on the furnace interface shows when the next ingot will be ready.5959Automation Tips6161Place a Smelting Furnace inside or immediately adjacent to the habitat of a Burn Pokemon. When the Pokemon returns home, it will automatically begin smelting any ore that has been placed in the furnace. This lets smelting run in the background while you explore other areas of the island.6363For maximum throughput, set up a cluster of two to three Smelting Furnaces near your mining spot in Rocky Ridges with a Storage Box nearby.
