11Overview2233Seeds and crops are the foundation of Pokemon Pokopia's farming system. After unlocking the Rototiller move from Drilbur, you can till soil, plant seeds, and grow crops that serve as ingredients for cooking recipes. Crops are also required for building vegetable field habitats like the Fresh Veggie Field. The game has three primary crop types: Beans, Tomatoes, Wheat, and Potatoes.4455Getting Started6677Before you can plant anything, you need the Rototiller move. Find Drilbur in the eastern area of Withered Wasteland and help it water dry soil. Drilbur teaches Rototiller and gives you 5 Bean Seeds to start your first farm.889+910How to Plant10111112Use Rototiller on a grass or dirt tile to create a crop field.Open your inventory and select seeds to hold them.Aim at the tilled field and press A to plant the seeds.Water the crops if required (see watering section below).Wait for the crops to mature, then harvest.12131314Crop Types14151516There are three primary crops in Pokemon Pokopia, each used in different cooking recipes:16171718CropUsed InWatering RequiredSeed SourcePriceBeansHamburger SteaksNo (grows without watering)Pokemon Center shop, Drilbur's gift50 Life Coins per 5 bagsTomatoesHamburger Steaks, Initiation ChallengeYes (Water Gun or irrigation)Pokemon Center shop (unlock at Environment Level 3 in Bleak Beach), Bleak Beach crop patches40 Life Coins per 5 bagsWheatBreadYes (Water Gun or irrigation)Pokemon Center shop, gifts from Rocky Ridges Pokemon, red Poke Balls, water splashes50 Life Coins per 5 bags1819Beans19202021Beans are the simplest crop to grow because they do not require watering. Plant Bean Seeds and wait for them to mature. Beans are the primary ingredient in Hamburger Steaks, which power up Rock Smash. Drilbur gives you 5 Bean Seeds at the start of your farming journey, and you can buy more from the Pokemon Center shop for 50 Life Coins per 5 bags.21222223Tomatoes23242425Tomatoes require watering to grow. Use Water Gun on planted tomato fields, or place them near a water source for automatic dampening. Each tomato vine yields 3 tomatoes when harvested. Tomato Seeds become available in the Pokemon Center shop after reaching Environment Level 3 in Bleak Beach. You can also find wild tomato vines in Bleak Beach's northern water area.25262627Wheat27282829Wheat requires watering and is used primarily in Bread recipes, which power up Cut. Wheat Seeds are harder to find early in the game. They can be purchased at the Pokemon Center shop, found as gifts from Pokemon in Rocky Ridges, discovered inside red Poke Balls, or spotted in water splashes.29303031Watering Mechanics31323233Crops that require water (Tomatoes and Wheat) can be watered through three methods:33343435MethodHow It WorksBest ForWater Gun (manual)Spray crops directly with the Water Gun moveSmall farms and early gameProximity to waterPlace crops near a water source; they are constantly dampened by the streamMedium farms near rivers or pondsWater specialty PokemonAssign a Pokemon with the Water specialty near a water basin; it will water crops automaticallyLarge farms and late-game automation3536For automated watering, assign a Pokemon with the Water specialty (such as Squirtle or Lapras) near your crops and place a basin filled with water nearby. The Pokemon will water the fields on its own during free time.36373738Growth Acceleration38393940Pokemon with the Grow specialty can speed up crop growth time. Lead a Grow specialist like Bulbasaur or Rowlet near your crop fields, and they will automatically use their ability to accelerate plant growth. Without a Grow specialist, crops take real-time days to mature.40414142Harvesting42434344Once crops are fully mature, you can harvest them in two ways:44454546MethodInputSpeedManual pickPress Y on each cropSlow (one at a time)Cut harvestPress ZR to use Cut on cropsFast (bulk harvest)4647Using Cut for harvesting is significantly faster than picking items one by one. If you have a large farm, always use Cut to collect everything at once.47484849Vegetable Field Habitats49505051Planted crop fields contribute to the Fresh Veggie Field habitat. Eight vegetable fields of any crop type create this habitat, which attracts Drilbur and Excadrill. Building vegetable field habitats is a practical way to combine your farm with Pokemon attraction.51525253Initiation Challenge53545455The second Initiation Challenge requires you to collect 10 Beans, 10 Tomatoes, and 10 Wheat (30 total vegetables). Make sure to start farming all four crop types as early as possible to meet this requirement without unnecessary waiting.55565657Tips57585859Plant beans first since they grow without watering. Use them to start cooking Hamburger Steaks early.Keep Bulbasaur near your fields at all times. Its Grow specialty cuts crop growth time dramatically.Set up a Squirtle with a water basin near your tomato and wheat fields for fully automated irrigation.Use Cut (ZR) to harvest mature crops in bulk instead of picking them one by one with Y.Befriended Pokemon with high Comfort Levels occasionally gift seeds, providing a free supply over time.Start growing all four crop types before reaching the second Initiation Challenge to avoid a long wait for the 30-vegetable requirement.
