11Overview2233Mosslax is one of the seven Special Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia. It is a regional variant of Snorlax (Pokedex #108, Normal type) that has been sleeping for so long that moss, vines, and a small flower have grown across its entire body. Mosslax is found in Bleak Beach, where it resides in a cave and must be woken as part of the area's main storyline. It is the only Pokemon with the Eat specialty, which provides daily buffs based on the flavor of food offered.4455Appearance6677Mosslax's most striking feature is the thick layer of green moss covering its body, the result of its extraordinarily long slumber. A small, colorful flower grows from the top of its head, and the number of flowers blooming represents quest progress during the "Brighten Things Up" storyline. Underneath the moss, it retains the round, heavy build of a typical Snorlax. Its moss-covered appearance gives it a natural, almost camouflaged look that blends with the environment of Bleak Beach.88991010Location11111212Mosslax is found inside Mosslax's Cave on the cliff side of Bleak Beach, hidden behind rocks that must be broken with Rock Smash. The quest triggers when Meowth and Trubbish claim to hear an unusual noise coming from the cliff. To access Bleak Beach, players must first reach "Great" Trainer Rank on their Pokedex.13131414After being befriended, Snorlax/Mosslax can appear across all five areas through the Gourmet's Altar habitat (see below).15151616Waking Quest: "Brighten Things Up!"17171818After discovering Mosslax via Rock Smash, Professor Tangrowth assigns the main quest "Brighten Things Up!". Bleak Beach is permanently dark when first accessed, and the goal is to restore light and power to the area. Progress is tracked by Bloom Points, visually represented by the number of flowers blooming on Mosslax's head.19192020Quest Walkthrough21212222Light three streetlights using Pawmi or a similar Electric-type Pokemon.Build a fire habitat at Torchic's suggestion.Construct a Shell Lamp in Peakychu's cave and power it.Install Utility Poles on blocks with circular dot markers. These connect streetlamps and machines to electrical generation systems.Build and connect three generator types: a windmill (on the ocean), multiple waterwheels, and a furnace (burns unwanted resources).Activate all five charging stations by connecting them to the power grid.Once all five stations are powered, speak to Peakychu to bring the light back.Raikou then appears, fully awakening Mosslax. Speaking to Mosslax finishes the Bleak Beach story.23232424The goal is to reach 100 Bloom Points to complete the quest and unlock Raikou. Peakychu is a new variant of Pikachu encountered on a small island during this quest. It has trouble generating electricity on its own and guides players through the electrical infrastructure mechanics (Shell Lamps, power distribution, generators).25252626Completing the Bleak Beach story unlocks progression to Rocky Ridges or Sparkling Skylands. Players also encounter Zorua during this sequence, learning the Camouflage transformation ability.27272828[object Object]29293030Mosslax has the exclusive Eat specialty. After completing the Bleak Beach story, players can offer food to Mosslax once per day by placing it on the Offering Dish at the Gourmet's Altar. The food's dominant flavor determines the buff granted. Buffs last until the daily reset at 5:00 AM (system clock). Dry is Mosslax's favorite flavor.31313232[object Object]33333434FlavorBuff EffectGeneric (no dominant flavor)Increased rate of growing closer to Pokemon (friendship/affinity boost)BitterIncreased chance of finding rare itemsDry (Mosslax's favorite)Increased chance to see Pokemon with rare feathers (Ho-Oh and Lugia)SourIncreased chance of shop having "Good" itemsSpicyIncreased chance of Pokemon appearing in habitats (spawn rate boost)SweetIncreased chance of finding Ancient Artefacts3535The Spicy buff (habitat spawn rate) and Dry buff (rare feather Pokemon like Ho-Oh and Lugia) are considered particularly valuable.
