11Overview2233Many crafting recipes in Pokemon Pokopia require processed materials rather than raw ones. Processing transforms raw resources gathered from the environment into refined components like Lumber, Ingots, Glass, Bricks, Paper, and Dye. Each processing type requires a specific Pokemon specialty. Knowing which Pokemon process which materials, and where to find them, is essential for efficient progression.4455Raw materials are collected through exploration, mining, foraging, and drops from Pokemon with the Litter specialty. Processed materials are then used at Workbenches to build furniture, structures, and utility items.6677Processing Specialties8899There are five main processing specialties. Each one converts a specific category of raw material into a refined product.101011111212Chop (Lumber)13131414The Chop specialty converts Small Logs into Lumber at a ratio of 1 Small Log to 5 Lumber. You can hand up to 10 Small Logs at once (yielding 50 Lumber). Present Small Logs to a Pokemon with Chop, and it will process them automatically over a short period of real-world time.15151616Lumber is used in dozens of crafting recipes including tables, chairs, beds, storage boxes, building frames, and more. You will need a steady supply from early game onward.17171818Small Logs are obtained by using the Cut move on piles of discarded wood, fallen logs, and trees. Green, flourishing trees yield more logs than withered ones.19192020Pokemon with Chop (partial list):21212222PokemonRegion FoundScytherWithered Wasteland (teaches Cut move)ScizorRocky RidgesHeracrossRocky RidgesPinsirRocky RidgesCrobatRocky Ridges (caves)Farfetch'dBleak BeachExcadrillVariousAxew / Fraxure / HaxorusVariousVikavoltSparkling SkylandsDartrix / DecidueyeSparkling SkylandsGreninjaSparkling SkylandsCorvisquirePalette TownRookideePalette Town2323Tip: Scyther is one of the first Pokemon you befriend and provides Chop from the very start. Station it near a pile of Small Logs for continuous Lumber production.24242525Burn (Smelting and Bricks)26262727The Burn specialty serves multiple functions. Burn Pokemon can set fire to flammable objects like campfires and torches, providing light and activating certain habitat requirements. More importantly, Burn Pokemon operate the Smelting Furnace to convert ores and raw materials into refined products, and they can also convert Squishy Clay directly into Bricks.28282929Smelting Furnace30303131The Smelting Furnace (crafted from 4 Iron Ore + 4 Stone) processes ores into ingots at a 1:1 ratio:32323333InputOutputNotesIron OreIron IngotStandard Rock SmashCopper OreCopper IngotFound in Rocky Ridges minesGold OreGold IngotRequires Enhanced Rock Smash (eat Hamburger Steak)Pokemetal FragmentPokemetal IngotFound on Dream Islands and deep minesSand / Sandstone / Volcanic AshGlassAny of these three sources works3434Place raw materials inside the Furnace, then station a Burn Pokemon nearby. The Pokemon will automatically fire the Furnace and process the materials over time. Multiple items can be queued. A free Smelting Furnace can be found in Rocky Ridges by following the cart tracks northeast of the Pokemon Center.35353636Brick Making37373838Burn Pokemon also convert Squishy Clay into Bricks through direct interaction (not via the Smelting Furnace). Interact with a Burn Pokemon, select "Look at this!", hand over Squishy Clay, and ask them to make bricks. The ratio is approximately 10 Squishy Clay to 20 Bricks. Squishy Clay is found by breaking clay blocks at Bleak Beach and is also dropped by Paldean Wooper's Litter specialty.39394040Pokemon with Burn (20 total):41414242PokemonRegion FoundCharmanderWithered Wasteland (starter)CharmeleonRocky RidgesCharizardSparkling SkylandsGrowlitheVariousArcanineVariousMagbyVariousMagmarRocky RidgesTorchicRocky RidgesCombuskenRocky RidgesScorbunnyBleak BeachRabootVariousCinderaceVariousFlareonPalette TownTorkoalRocky Ridges (caves)Litwick / Lampent / ChandelureVariousRolycoly / CarkolVariousCharcadetVarious4343Tip: Charmander is available in the first region. Befriend it early and build a Smelting Furnace as soon as you gather enough Iron Ore and Stone.44444545Recycle (Paper and Iron Ore)46464747The Recycle specialty converts waste materials into useful resources:48484949Wastepaper becomes clean Paper. Ratio: 10 Wastepaper yields 20 Paper. Wastepaper is commonly found in Sparkling Skylands.Nonburnable Garbage becomes Iron Ore. This provides an alternative source of Iron Ore beyond mining.50505151Pokemon with Recycle:52525353PokemonRegion FoundTrubbishWithered WastelandGarbodorWithered WastelandPorygonSparkling SkylandsMetangSparkling SkylandsCinccinoPalette Town5454Crush (Dye)55555656The Crush specialty converts berries and certain items into colored Dye used for decorating and customizing items. Different berries produce different dye colors. For example, Leppa Berries become Red Dye. Dye is used by Smearguru to paint and recolor furniture items.57575858Pokemon with Crush:59596060PokemonRegion FoundOnixWithered WastelandGeodudeRocky RidgesGravelerRocky RidgesGolemRocky RidgesLarvitarRocky RidgesPupitarRocky RidgesDugtrioBleak BeachConkeldurrVariousPawmi / Pawmo / PawmotPalette Town6161Concrete Mixing62626363The Concrete Mixer (crafted from 2 Iron Ingots) produces Concrete from raw materials. Concrete is needed for infrastructure items like Elevator Platforms, Lift Platforms, and paved surfaces. The Concrete Mixer does not require a specific Pokemon specialty; it operates on its own once materials are loaded.64646565Passive Material Generation66666767Litter68686969Pokemon with the Litter specialty passively drop useful materials near their habitats and homes. These materials appear on the ground around the Pokemon each morning and include Fluff, Vine Rope, Twine, Honey, and Squishy Clay. The specific material depends on the Pokemon species:70707171PokemonDropMareep /Flaaffydrop FluffSpinarakdrops TwineBellsprout /Weepinbelldrop Vine RopeCombeedrops HoneyPaldean Wooperdrops Squishy Clay7272High-comfort Pokemon with Litter can also leave rare seeds, biome-specific materials, and crafting items. Maintaining high comfort levels on Litter Pokemon is one of the best passive income strategies in the game.73737474Gather75757676Pokemon with the Gather specialty (like Machop and Machoke) pick up items from the ground and deposit them in nearby Community Boxes (crafted from 2 Lumber). Place a Community Box in an area with scattered resources, and Gather Pokemon will automatically collect items throughout the day.77777878Generate79798080Electric-type Pokemon with the Generate specialty provide power to devices and infrastructure. They are used to light up areas, power electricity systems, and activate certain machines. Generate Pokemon must be stationed near the device that needs power.81818282Processing Summary83838484Raw MaterialProcessed ResultSpecialtyRatioSmall LogsLumberChop1:5Iron OreIron IngotBurn (Furnace)1:1Copper OreCopper IngotBurn (Furnace)1:1Gold OreGold IngotBurn (Furnace)1:1Sand / Sandstone / Volcanic AshGlassBurn (Furnace)1:1Pokemetal FragmentPokemetal IngotBurn (Furnace)1:1Squishy ClayBricksBurn (direct)10:20WastepaperPaperRecycle10:20Nonburnable GarbageIron OreRecycleVariesBerriesDyeCrushVaries by color8585Processing Tips86868787Build multiple Smelting Furnaces if you have enough Burn Pokemon. Running several furnaces in parallel speeds up Ingot and Glass production significantly.Station Chop Pokemon near forest areas where you gather Small Logs to create a processing pipeline: chop trees, hand logs directly to the Pokemon, collect Lumber.Recycle Pokemon near garbage-heavy areas (like the starting zones in Withered Wasteland) provide a free trickle of Iron Ore and Paper.Litter materials accumulate overnight. Check on your Litter Pokemon every morning to collect dropped materials before they get cluttered. To mine Gold Ore in Rocky Ridges, you need Enhanced Rock Smash. Eat a Hamburger Steak (recipe unlocked during the Rocky Ridges story) to temporarily power up Rock Smash enough to break the tougher gold ore blocks.Prioritize befriending at least one Pokemon of each processing specialty early in each region. This prevents bottlenecks when new crafting recipes require processed materials.Dream Islands are the best source of rare ores. The Dragonite Doll takes you to Sky Dream Island where Pokemetal Fragments and Crystal Fragments can be found. Visit Dream Islands daily to stockpile materials for late-game recipes.
