1516 Lighting items are used in several habitats. The most common requirement is the Illuminated Tall Grass habitat, which needs 4 Tall Grass and 1 Lighting item (any type). The Mini Library habitat also uses lamps (Mushroom Lamp, Plain Lamp, Luxury Lamp, Resort Light specifically). Any lighting item works for habitats that specify 'Lighting (any)'.

1920 Craft a few different lighting types early to have options for habitat building. The Mushroom Streetlight is one of the first lighting items available since it uses common materials. Meteor Lamps are collectible and come in seven colors matching the rainbow; collecting all seven is a side goal for completionists. Lighting items also improve the look of your town at night, making late-game areas like Sparkling Skylands feel more alive.
