The event runs annually for 24 hours starting at 5:00 AM on April 1 (Switch 2 system clock time) and ending at 5:00 AM on April 2.

The 3D Printer accepts the photograph as a reference for printing additional decoration copies. Note that you can only earn the original copy through the event itself; the 3D Printer cannot create a copy if you have never earned one.
