11Overview2233The Imitation Quiz is a special one-day event in Pokemon Pokopia that takes place every year on April 1 (April Fools' Day). During this event, Pokemon throughout your settlement begin imitating other species from their biome. Players must identify which Pokemon each impersonator is copying. Successfully answering three quizzes rewards the exclusive Inflatable Sudowoodo outdoor decoration.4455This event is also officially known as Copycat Challenge in some regions. Both names refer to the same April 1 April Fools event, and the in-game event text may display either label depending on the localization.6677Event Details8899DetailInformationEvent NameImitation Quiz (Copycat Challenge)DatesApril 1, 5:00 AM to April 2, 5:00 AM (annually, based on NS2 system clock)Duration24 hoursRequirementAt least one Pokemon Center must be fully rebuiltRewardInflatable Sudowoodo (outdoor decoration)Wrong-Answer PenaltyNoneRepeatableAnnually on April 1Cloud Island EligibilityMain-area Pokemon Centers only1010How to Participate11111212Step 1: Spot the Imitators13131414On April 1, Pokemon in your settlement will start acting strangely, imitating the behavior and appearance of other species from their biome. The visual cues vary by impersonator, but you can usually spot a copycat by:15151616A Pokemon striking poses or animations that don't normally belong to its speciesFloating sparkle particles around the Pokemon to indicate it is in disguiseA Pokemon standing in a habitat or location that does not match its usual spawnAudible cries that sound slightly off compared to the species' normal call17171818Step 2: Trigger the Quiz Prompt19192020Walk up to an imitating Pokemon and interact with it. A quiz prompt appears asking you to identify which Pokemon it is copying. The prompt presents multiple-choice answers from species you have already registered in the Pokedex, so the answer pool is limited to Pokemon you have actually befriended.21212222Step 3: Answer Correctly23232424Select the correct answer. There is no penalty for wrong answers; you can try again until you get it right. The dialogue does not count down or lock you out, so feel free to guess if you are unsure.25252626Step 4: Claim the Reward27272828Answer three separate quizzes correctly to complete the event challenge. After the third correct answer, the Inflatable Sudowoodo decoration is added to your inventory automatically. You do not need to talk to a specific NPC to redeem it.29293030Identification Tips31313232Clue TypeWhat to Look ForBody shapePokemon imitating tall species (Snorlax, Tangrowth) try to puff up; imitators of small species (Pikachu, Bulbasaur) hunch down.Habitat cluesAn imitator standing on a ledge probably copies a Flying-type. One in water copies a Water-type. The biome cue narrows the possibilities considerably.Color tintSubtle color shifts hint at the original species; a yellow-tinted Pokemon is mimicking Pikachu or Magikarp.Move animationsIf the impersonator practices a recognizable move animation (Vine Whip, Flamethrower), the answer is the species that learns that move.3333Reward: Inflatable Sudowoodo34343535The Inflatable Sudowoodo is a whimsical outdoor decoration shaped like a balloon version of Sudowoodo. When placed, it stands upright and periodically dances. This item is exclusive to the Imitation Quiz event and cannot be obtained any other way (Mystery Gift, 3D Printer photographing, or shop purchase).36363737PropertyDetailTypeOutdoor decorationSize1x1 tile, ~3 blocks tallPower requirementNoneBehaviorIdle dance loop with periodic bobbingStackableNoPhotographable for 3D PrinterYes (after placement)3838Once placed in the world, you can photograph the Inflatable Sudowoodo at any Pokemon Center 3D Printer station to print copies for use in other areas. The print uses standard Pokemetal cost rather than event currency.39394040System Clock Workaround41414242If you miss the April 1 window, you can set your Nintendo Switch 2 system clock to April 1 to trigger the event manually. The game uses the console's internal clock, not an online server, so any year's April 1 setting will activate the quiz.43434444Caveats:45454646Adjusting the date will affect other time-sensitive features such as daily resets, Stamp Rally streaks, Lucky Days, and crop growth timers. If your Pokemon Center has not been rebuilt yet, the event will not trigger even with a clock change. The Center prerequisite is checked alongside the date.Players who already redeemed the Sudowoodo this calendar year cannot earn a second copy by re-triggering the event in the same year.47474848Tips49495050The event lasts only 24 hours each year. Make sure to complete it on April 1 before 5:00 AM on April 2.Wrong answers carry no penalty, so guess freely if you are unsure. There is no quiz lockout. The event recurs annually, so missing one year does not permanently lock you out of the reward.Place the Inflatable Sudowoodo near a Pokemon Center entrance for a fun seasonal photo backdrop. Use Photo Mode to commemorate the day. This is the only annual recurring event currently confirmed in Pokopia. Other events follow a one-time schedule.
