11Overview2233Pokemon Pokopia's world is divided into five distinct areas, each inspired by a classic Kanto location. Areas unlock gradually as you progress through the game's story by completing Important Requests and raising your Trainer Rank. This guide covers the unlock requirements for every area in the order you will encounter them.4455You cannot skip ahead or unlock areas out of order. The progression is linear: complete each area's main quest to open the gates to the next set of regions.6677With the Expansion Pass, a sixth area exists as paid DLC: the underwater town Bubbly Basin, released on August 5, 2026. To enter it you must own the pass, complete the request Raise the environment level! in Bleak Beach, and learn Dive from the free Version 2.0.0 update.8899Area Unlock Summary10101111AreaInspirationUnlock RequirementTrainer RankWithered WastelandFuchsia CityAvailable from the start of the gameStarterPalette TownPallet TownComplete the tutorial in the Withered WastelandStarterBleak BeachVermilion CityComplete "Yawn up a Storm" in the Withered WastelandGreatRocky RidgesPewter City / Mt. Withered Wasteland (Starting Area)19192020The Withered Wasteland is the first area you explore. Based on Fuchsia City from the Kanto region, this area has dried out from lack of rain and Pokemon activity. It is the tutorial zone where Ditto wakes from its slumber and meets Professor Tangrowth for the first time.21212222Every core mechanic is introduced here: building, crafting, learning moves, creating habitats, befriending Pokemon, and increasing the Environment Level. There is no unlock requirement; the Withered Wasteland is available immediately when you start the game.23232424Main Quest: Yawn up a Storm25252626"Yawn up a Storm" is the Important Request that gates your progress. The goal is to increase the area's humidity enough for Slowpoke to produce a rain-inducing yawn. Key steps include:27272828Create a Seaside Tall Grass habitat by placing four grass patches next to the ocean at the beach to attract Slowpoke.Build habitats and raise the Environment Level to increase humidity in the area.Speak to Slowpoke once humidity is high enough. It will deliver an almighty yawn that triggers rainfall. The rain softens the rocks blocking a cave. Follow the commotion south to encounter the legendary Kyogre.Use Rock Smash to free Onix from the weakened rocks.29293030Completing this quest advances you to Great Trainer Rank and opens the gates to Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges.313132322. Palette Town (Sandbox Area)33333434Palette Town unlocks very early, right after completing the tutorial in the Withered Wasteland. It is found across the bridge on the far left of the Withered Wasteland, beyond a road going into the distance.35353636Unlike the four story areas, Palette Town is a massive blank canvas designed for freeform building, creative projects, and multiplayer collaboration. It has minimal pre-existing terrain. The name is a wordplay on the original Pallet Town, with "Palette" referencing an artist's palette.37373838Palette Town has no main quest to complete, but it is important to know that some Pokemon are exclusive to Palette Town. Even if you build their habitat in another area, they will only appear if that habitat is placed in Palette Town. All eight Eeveelutions are recommended to be built here due to available space, and Eevee itself is exclusive to Palette Town.393940403. Bleak Beach41414242Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges unlock simultaneously after completing "Yawn Up a Storm" in the Withered Wasteland. You reach Bleak Beach by heading out through the east gate of the Withered Wasteland.43434444Based on the remains of Vermilion City, this flooded and polluted beachfront zone is initially covered in perpetual darkness regardless of the time of day. The area has the iconic S.S. Anne ship, a complex electricity generation system, and characters including Meowth, Peakychu (a ghostly Pikachu), and Mosslax (a moss-covered Snorlax).45454646Main Quest: Brighten Things Up47474848"Brighten Things Up" requires you to restore electricity to the darkened town. Key steps include:494950505151Connect generators to a central charging station via Utility Poles. Three methods of generating power are available in Bleak Beach.Power streetlights, lamps, and other structures using Pokemon with the Generate specialty.Accumulate 100 Bloom Points by lighting up structures across the area. When Bloom Points reach 100, Mosslax awakens from its centuries-long sleep.Climb to the top of Mosslax's cave to encounter the legendary Raikou.525253534. Rocky Ridges54545555Rocky Ridges unlocks at the same time as Bleak Beach. You reach it by heading out through the west gate of the Withered Wasteland. Built on the remains of Pewter City and Mt. Moon, the surface features volcanic terrain, rocky formations, dried-out grass coated in volcanic ash, and a prominent volcano. Underground, an extensive mine network contains ore deposits, lava sections, crystal formations, and the buried remains of the Pewter City Museum.56565757Rocky Ridges is where the Cooking system is unlocked through Chef Dente, a culinary Greedent. The area's gameplay focuses heavily on mining, smelting, and crafting with metallic resources.58585959Main Quest: Time to Party60606161"Time to Party" involves throwing the best party in Rocky Ridges. Key steps include:62626363Talk to Chef Dente to receive the Party Cooking Pot.Clear the party area using Rock Smash and Rollout to remove volcanic ash and stones, then place the pot.Set up DJ Rotom with music CDs to get the party started.Build the mood to 100 points by preparing Party Platters. Simple Salad is the most efficient food for this since it conserves your Wheat and Beans for the curry.Once mood reaches 100, Volcanion appears. Despite initial complaints about noise and humans, the Steam Pokemon warms up and caps the celebration with a firework display.64646565Completing both "Brighten Things Up" and "Time to Party" advances you to Ultra Trainer Rank and opens the gates to Sparkling Skylands.666667675. Sparkling Skylands (Final Area)68686969Sparkling Skylands is the fourth and final story area. It opens after you complete the main quests in all three previous story areas and reach Ultra Trainer Rank. the area encompasses "what used to be Celadon and Saffron Cities," dramatically transformed when the catastrophe caused the ground to shoot into the sky.70707171Gates to Sparkling Skylands can be accessed from three locations:72727373Far right of Bleak BeachFar right of Rocky RidgesBehind the Withered Wasteland (high on a hill behind the Pokemon Center)74747575Sparkling Skylands features floating islands suspended high above the world, cascading waterfalls between levels, and ruined urban structures. This is where the Glide and Waterfall traversal moves are unlocked, allowing aerial traversal and vertical water travel.76767777The area's signature quest involves rebuilding the former Celadon Department Store floor by floor under the guidance of Tinkaton (Tinkmaster). It contains the legendary Pokemon Mewtwo, three collectible outfits, and the Stylish Hedge as its exclusive hedge type.78787979Progression Checklist80808181Use this checklist to track your progress through all five areas:82828383StepTaskResult1Complete the tutorial in Withered WastelandPalette Town unlocks2Complete "Yawn up a Storm" in Withered WastelandGreat Trainer Rank; Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges unlock3Complete "Brighten Things Up" in Bleak BeachPrerequisite for Ultra Rank4Complete "Time to Party" in Rocky RidgesPrerequisite for Ultra Rank5Both Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges main quests doneUltra Trainer Rank; Sparkling Skylands unlocks6Complete the main story in Sparkling SkylandsMaster Trainer Rank (completion acknowledgement)8484Tips for Smooth Progression85858686You can tackle Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges in either order. Both unlock at the same time, and you need to complete both before accessing Sparkling Skylands. Choose based on whether you prefer the coastal theme or the mountain/mining theme first.Raise each area's Environment Level. Higher Environment Levels unlock more Challenges, more Life Coins, and additional items at the PC Shop. Aim for at least Level 3 in each area to rebuild the Pokemon Center.Rebuild the Pokemon Center in every area. It costs 1,000 Life Coins per area and requires Environment Level 3. The Pokemon Center provides the PC Shop, 3D Printer, and a trading post.Return to earlier areas with new traversal moves. Moves unlocked in later areas (like Glide and Waterfall from Sparkling Skylands) open previously inaccessible sections of earlier regions.Build habitats everywhere you go. Habitats attract Pokemon, which raises the Environment Level, which unlocks more content. It is a positive feedback loop that accelerates your progression. Some Pokemon are region-exclusive. Certain species only appear in specific areas even if their habitat is built elsewhere. Check each area's Pokemon list to avoid missing region-exclusive species.878788-Upcoming Area: Bubbly Basin88+DLC Area: Bubbly Basin898990-Bubbly Basin, an underwater town, arrives in August 2026 as Part 1 of the paid Expansion Pass.
