The World Map of Hethereau is a seamless open world divided into six named regions and roughly 3,280 marker points covering bosses, gathering nodes, chests, fast-travel anchors, and points of interest. The world is the primary play space for Neverness to Everness, supporting on-foot, vehicle, transit, and Esper-powered traversal between every region without loading screens.

Each of the six regions has its own atmospheric identity, anomaly density, and landmark POIs. Together they form the city of Hethereau and the surrounding coastal and outer-zone districts. The map opens fully at launch, with progress unlocked through Wertheimer Towers that reveal terrain and ReroRero Phone Booths that anchor the 114 fast-travel points distributed across the world.
The six named regions are listed below in approximate order of marker density.
Region | Approx. Markers | Identity | Notable Landmarks |
|---|---|---|---|
711 | Surreal carnival district, dreamlike art direction | Origami Market, Clement Academy, Raindrop Court, Wertheimer Tower | |
701 | Historic old town near the twin sea bridges, top of Hethereau's livability list | Green Wall Slope, Tamamochi Street, Hankaku Street | |
Several hundred | Modern downtown, financial heart of the city | Pink Paws Bank, Oia Avenue, Skyview Halls | |
Several hundred | Heritage commercial district hosting the Eibon Antique Shop | Eibon Antique Shop, antique alleys, courtyard markets | |
140 | Coastal escape, slower-paced district away from the city core | Beachfront promenade, lighthouse, ferry terminal | |
2 | Restricted outer-zone region with minimal coverage | Sparse marker density, niche progression access |
Markers are organized into 12 filterable categories on the in-game and community interactive maps.
Category | Examples |
|---|---|
Bosses | World boss spawns, Anomaly Pilgrimage anchors, Anomaly Commission encounters |
Chests | Common, rare, and gold-tier loot caches scattered across each region |
Gathering Nodes | Resource veins for crafting materials and cooking ingredients |
Fast Travel | ReroRero Phone Booths and Wertheimer Towers |
Anomaly Commissions | Daily and weekly anomaly investigations with story flavor |
Quests | Side quests, character stories, and event chains |
NPCs | Vendors, merchants, mission-givers, hidden character cameos |
Wertheimer Towers | Map-uncovering vista points that also restore HP |
Phone Booths | Anchored fast-travel points unlocked by interacting once |
Stamps | Collectible stamps used in Hethereau Residents Guide tracking |
Oracle Stones | Lore collectibles tied to Sunyas mechanics |
Gifts from '21' | Hidden gift packages distributed across the world |
The fast-travel network covers 114 named points across the six regions. Two anchor types feed the system: ReroRero Phone Booths (the most common urban fast-travel anchor) and Wertheimer Towers (vista points that also unfog the surrounding district map and restore HP). Players unlock each anchor by visiting the location once, after which it is available from the world map menu.
In addition to the dedicated fast-travel network, the city's Public Transit system supports rapid movement via buses and rail lines for narrative-flavored traversal between districts. Vehicle and Glider traversal cover gaps between fast-travel points without burning through anchor unlocks.
Marker density gives a rough sense of how much there is to explore in each region. Illusion Town and Bridge Crossings each cover more than 700 markers, making them the deepest single-region exploration targets. Miguel District and New Herland District anchor the city's commercial and downtown experiences with several hundred markers each. Unheard Shores is the smaller coastal getaway. Area M10 is an outer-zone tag with minimal current coverage, reserved for restricted progression content.

Community-maintained interactive maps complement the in-game map. They support filter overlays, search by NPC name, and progress-checkbox tracking for completionist runs. The Interactive Map Guide walks through how to use these tools alongside the in-game world map.
