Sunward Island is a new exploration area introduced in Version 1.1 of Neverness to Everness, releasing on June 3, 2026. Located outside the main city of Hethereau, the island offers a noticeably calmer and more peaceful atmosphere than the dense urban core, with seaside scenery, open terrain, and rural exploration content as the headline focus.
Sunward Island serves as a tropical-flavoured counterpoint to Hethereau's neon urban environment. The island features beaches, villas, and quieter rural pacing meant for slower exploration sessions. The contrast with the city's busy combat-and-commission cadence is intentional, providing a slower content lane during the Version 1.1 cycle.
The resort is sponsored by the philanthropist Anana and is presented as a destination for fostering emotional bonds with anomalies, a calmer counterpoint to the investigative work of the city.
The island is reached through the Dreamwalk Corridor main-story episode, which becomes available after the launch quest "A Research in Scarlet." It is framed around an anomaly charity house run by the philanthropist Anana, and its layout spans beaches, a harbor, sunflower fields, forests, cliffs, a lighthouse, and a wrecked-ship zone.
The headline collectible activity is a 9-part "Strange Tales" set scattered across the island, tied into the Sunward Travelogue event that runs from June 3 to July 8, 2026.
Sunward Island anchors the Sunward Travelogue event, one of the named events in the Version 1.1 lineup. The Travelogue event uses the island as its content stage. Additional features on the island during the Version 1.1 window include exploration markers, side stories, and rural-themed collectibles.
Confirmed island content includes new anomalies to encounter, along with Oracle Stones and dice to collect during exploration.
Sunward Island and the Sunward Travelogue event were both confirmed during the Version 1.1 Special Program broadcast on May 23, 2026. The island shipped with the June 3, 2026 update.
