Refinement System

Correct Arc Research Program pity values to 60/80 pulls (was 6/8)
The Refinement System in Neverness to Everness is the upgrade loop for Arcs, the soul-weapons that Espers wield in combat. Each Arc has refinement passives that can be strengthened by feeding the system duplicate Arc pulls or, in some cases, Warp Pieces earned from gacha duplicates. Refining an Arc raises the strength of its passive abilities without requiring multiple ascensions of the same weapon.
The system serves two roles: it gives players a way to make duplicate pulls feel meaningful, and it provides a long-term progression target for top-end weapon optimization. Whether refinement is worth pursuing for any given weapon depends on the Arc's role and the character holding it; high-value Arcs tied to a flagship character almost always justify refinement, while less impactful Arcs are usually better left at base refinement.
Pull duplicates of the same Arc through the Arc Research Program weapon banner.
Feed each duplicate into the refinement interface in the Arc menu.
Each refinement step strengthens the Arc's passive: higher percentage values, longer durations, or additional procs depending on the specific Arc.
Reach the refinement cap to fully unlock the Arc's potential.
The exact refinement multipliers vary by Arc. S-Class Arcs typically have larger refinement steps than A-Class Arcs because their base passives are stronger to begin with. B-Class Arcs use a simpler refinement curve since they sit in the entry tier of the weapon system.
Source | Notes |
|---|---|
Duplicate Arc pulls | The most direct refinement path. Pulling the same Arc again on the weapon banner converts the duplicate into refinement material. |
Arc Research Program guarantee | The Arc Research Program guarantees the featured S-Class Arc within 80 pulls (8 ten-pulls) and an S-Class Arc of any kind within 60 pulls (6 ten-pulls). |
Free Stellar Veil | Stellar Veil arrives on Day 10 of the launch login event. Subsequent refinement requires duplicate Stellar Veil pulls. |
Chiz Contemplative Cat | Chiz's City Tycoon Level 18 unlock includes 5 copies of Contemplative Cat, enough to fully refine the weapon. |
The Forgotten | The Hethereau Residents Guide event delivers 1 copy of The Forgotten A-Class Arc. |
Warp Pieces | Warp Pieces earned from limited banner duplicates can be exchanged in the Fair Shop for selected refinement material. |
Refinement is best invested into Arcs that hold a slot in the player's main team. The standard prioritization rule:
Refine the Arc held by your main DPS first. Damage scales fastest from refinement increments on the on-field carry.
Refine support and healer Arcs second. Buff and healing percentages scale with refinement, but the impact is smaller than DPS refinement.
Hold off on refining Arcs you do not actively use. Storage costs nothing; refinement materials are limited.
Save the Chiz Contemplative Cat fully refined option for free. Contemplative Cat arrives at full refinement automatically through City Tycoon Level 18.
Stellar Veil's refinement value depends on which character the global meta settles on as the best fit. Hold refinement until the kit data and best-pair character are confirmed.

The Arc Research Program is the primary source of refinement-grade duplicates. |
Read the refinement passive description before pulling extra copies. Some Arc refinement steps deliver flat-percentage bumps; others change qualitative behavior. The latter are usually worth refining further.
Don't waste pulls trying to fully refine a non-meta Arc. Refinement is one of the slowest progression loops in the game; conserve pulls for the Arcs you actually use.
Watch for refinement-favoring patches. Future updates may add refinement-specific events or material exchanges; track patch notes before committing your duplicates.
Pair refinement with team building. An Arc refined to maximum on a character that is not in your active team is wasted optimization until you swap them in.
