Discord Teams

Initial version (2026-04-28)
Discord teams in Neverness to Everness build around the Discord trio reaction, which combines the three bottom elements of the Esper Cycle: Incantation, Chaos, and Psyche. The trio fires when Scorch (Incantation + Chaos) and Nova (Chaos + Psyche) both apply to the same enemy. Discord shreds a chunk of the target's break bar in a single burst, making it the most efficient stagger setup in the game.
Where Charge teams focus on sustained pressure and ultimate uptime, Discord teams focus on bursting through enemy stagger thresholds. The archetype is the meta pick for bosses and elite content where a single break window can produce 3-5x the damage of a sustained rotation.
The trio chain runs in two parallel tracks:
Apply Scorch on the target. Incantation + Chaos triggers the 15-second damage-over-time effect.
Apply Nova on the same target. Chaos + Psyche attaches the delayed burst-damage mark.
With both Scorch and Nova active simultaneously, Discord triggers, removing a major chunk of the target's break bar.
Once the break bar empties, the enemy enters stagger. The whole team unloads ultimates and burst damage during the stagger window.
Discord directly chips away at the break bar, making Incantation-Chaos-Psyche lanes excellent at forcing stagger quickly. The reaction is the bridge between reaction planning and the Stagger System: setting up Discord essentially substitutes for spending hits on break-bar damage by trading element setup for direct break shred.
Role | Best Fits | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Main DPS | Daffodil is the Break Queen and Chaos driver. Baicang adds Incantation Power Word stacking for extra Scorch. | |
Incantation Setup | Triggers the Incantation half of Scorch. Adler shields the team during the setup window. | |
Psyche Setup | Triggers the Psyche half of Nova. Fadia is the meta pick; Haniel is the free pre-registration alternative. | |
Chaos / Sub-DPS | Provides the Chaos half of both reactions. Lacrimosa stacks Break Capacity reduction, making her irreplaceable in Discord teams. |
Featured: Daffodil + Adler + Fadia + Nanally. The flagship Discord team. Adler shields and applies Scorch; Daffodil drives Chaos for both reactions; Fadia anchors Psyche and amplifies Nova; Nanally provides off-field follow-up damage during the stagger window.
Featured: Baicang + Daffodil + Haniel + flex slot. Baicang's Power Word mechanic double-stacks Scorch for faster Discord setup, while Haniel buffs Nova for massive Discord procs. The flex slot is typically a healer or shielder; Adler or Edgar both fit.
Featured: Adler + Daffodil or pulled S-Class + Haniel + flex. Adler is free from story progression. Haniel is the 30M pre-registration reward. Daffodil can be picked through the standard banner S-Rank Selector, giving a full Discord lane on a free-to-play account.
Sequence Scorch before Nova. Scorch's 15-second DoT gives a longer window than Nova's burst delay; lining them up means Nova lands while Scorch is still active.
Save ultimates for the stagger window. Discord shreds break; the moment the enemy staggers, fire every ultimate the team has. Burst damage during stagger is the team's payoff.
Layer Lacrimosa's Break Capacity reduction. Her stacking debuff makes Discord even more efficient against high-break-pool bosses.
Use Adler's shields to absorb the boss's pre-stagger phase. The setup window is risky if the team is unshielded; Adler keeps the team alive during Scorch and Nova application.
Maintain Chaos uptime. Chaos sits in both Scorch and Nova; a Chaos character's basic attacks alone keep both reactions ready to chain.
Strengths | Weaknesses |
|---|---|
Highest single-target burst in the game during stagger windows | Multi-target output is weaker than Charge teams |
Strong against bosses with large break bars | Setup-heavy: requires both Scorch and Nova active before Discord fires |
F2P-friendly thanks to free Adler and Haniel | Demands tight rotation; sloppy play wastes break shred |
Lacrimosa's passive is uniquely valuable | Requires Chaos and Psyche characters; F2P Psyche pool is thin |
