55 Insomniac has set out the opening in its own words: Logan rejoins his former team for a critical mission to infiltrate Bolivar Trask's outpost and save Nathaniel Essex, and that is what sets the story in motion. The mission plays out in the wilds of Telambang, where Logan fights through Reavers, The Hand and a run-in with Omega Red to reach him. At that point in the campaign Essex is a captive and a rescue target, not an opponent. See Bosses.
