11Bolivar Trask is the principal antagonist of Marvel's Wolverine. Official copy describes him as an anti-mutant billionaire industrialist driven by a fanatical belief in human superiority, and the campaign is built around the mutants he is having abducted. Trask Industries is the corporate name that appears on screen for his operation.2233His method4455Trask does not hunt mutants personally. He pays for it. The technology he has built detects mutants by their X-gene, which puts anyone carrying it at risk whether or not they have ever used a power, and the machines he builds are how he acts on what it finds. Official material describes him as an industrialist rather than a scientist, and no doctorate or research role has been confirmed for him.6677AssetWhat it isReaversA cybernetic guns-for-hire militia, paid to carry out the abductionsTrask soldiersConventional troops garrisoning his facilitiesAbility InhibitorsHardware that shuts off mutant powers, including Logan's healing factorSentinelsMutant-hunting machines, recurring through the campaign at more than one scaleSentinel PrototypeThe large wall-mounted boss built to detect and destroy mutants. They block Logan and his teammates from using their abilities, which strips Logan of the healing factor that normally keeps him upright. Insomniac's framing is that he has to work past the pain and fight without healing, destroying the Inhibitors before it is too late. Previews have also called them mutant-gene inhibitors and described them as creating flashes of vulnerability in otherwise one-sided fights. See Rage and Healing Factor.11111212Where he appears13131414The opening mission infiltrates a Trask outpost in Telambang to free Nathaniel Essex. A later sequence involves an aircraft coming down near a Trask Industries facility, and the fake town built for one of his experiments is a previewed stealth area. Official trailer copy names Trask alongside Omega Red and Deathstrike as the forces Team X stands against. See Enemies and Factions and Locations.15151616Scope note17171818The story is original rather than an adaptation, so nothing from the character's comics or film history is treated as confirmed here. What this wiki documents is what the game and its official material have actually shown.
