Loftia is a persistent online world shared by many players. An internet connection is required on every platform, including when playing alone.
Playing with others
Players need to be on the same server to play together. They are not permanently locked to a server and can join friends on another one.

Solo play
Solo play is intended to allow progress without requiring a group for almost all content. Some activities are designed around cooperation, so this is not a promise that every activity has a solo version.
Cross-platform plans
Cross-platform play is under research and testing and has not been promised. Initial Early Access platforms are Windows PC and macOS, with Nintendo Switch planned later. Each platform requires a separate purchase.
The preservation proposal described in Development History concerns a possible future closure of the game service. It does not provide an offline mode for the current game. See Release Date and Platforms for the announced launch arrangements.
