The world of Last Harbor is an open archipelago modeled on the San Juan Islands of Washington State. Survivors travel it by sea, anchoring near islands and going ashore to explore what the apocalypse left behind.

The islands form a cluster off the United States coast, dotted with quiet, seemingly abandoned town centers. Beneath their calm beauty, the land is overrun by the undead, creating the game's signature mix of dread and stillness. Survivors choose where to anchor and which shores are worth the risk.
To explore, a survivor anchors the main boat and launches a dinghy to reach land. Once ashore, the goal is to scavenge resources and loot while avoiding or fighting the dead, then return to the safety of the water. The full scavenging loop is described in Survival and Crafting.
Dynamic weather rolls across the archipelago, changing conditions on the water and the islands alike. Specific named islands, towns, and regions have not yet been revealed, so this page reflects only the confirmed shape of the world. The story behind it is covered in Story and Setting.
