Sir Champion is the 34th Novarch and the Novarch of Competition in Honkai: Nexus Anima. He appears as a mysterious armored warrior in full plate armor with an unrevealed face. Before the Sundering, he was a Sovereign governing the paired Aspects of Competition and Cooperation. In the New World, he rules only the Aspect of Competition.
Sir Champion oversees The Amphitheater Grand Championship, the premier competitive Nexus Battle tournament held every four years. He has remained undefeated for over 200 years, and anyone who can beat him will inherit the title of Novarch of Competition. His signature ability, "Competition's Crown," forcibly moves the weakest enemy to a marked hex, applies a stun, and increases damage taken. This is the highest-level competition in the game, and qualifying for it is a goal that drives several characters in the story.
The competitive ecosystem Sir Champion oversees includes multiple supporting locations. Championship Qualifiers are held at the Romanesque Hall, a former royal mansion from the Old World repurposed as a competition arena. Kampete's Gallery of Wandering is a shop dedicated to the Grand Championship, filled with relics and memorabilia from past champions.
Sir Champion is one of the 15-plus named Novarchs in the current build. He is listed alongside figures like Victus (Order), Blade (Strength), and Bai Mei (Reality), with his specific Plane name not yet publicly disclosed. As the 34th Novarch, he is one of the later-numbered rulers; the numbering does not appear to correspond to relative power, only to a registry order.
Some community members have noted visual and thematic similarities between Sir Champion and a knight figure from a prior franchise title (devotion to beauty and chivalric framing). This connection has not been officially confirmed by the developers, and Sir Champion is treated as an original character within the current build's lore. Any cross-franchise identification remains speculative.
