Overview

Herocrates is a vice president of the Nexus Association in Iia and a scholar of Anima studies who came to the town from the royal capital of Donia. He leads both the Association's Scientific Research Department and its Public Welfare Department. HoYoverse introduced him on 4 July 2026 ahead of the Evolution Test, and the build added him as a playable character.

Official material describes him as cultured and elegant, exceptionally well-read, and committed to rescuing Anima. His standing is high enough that people in Iia address him respectfully as "Professor", which is how most of the town refers to him rather than by name.

The Professor in Iia

The Nexus Association is the faction that argues for peaceful coexistence with Anima and runs rescue work for them, and it operates out of Nexus Hall, where the town's championship matches are administered. Herocrates is its public face in Iia and the representative the traveller deals with, which puts him opposite Olympia of the True Nexus Syndicate on the central question of whether Anima are companions or tools.

Holding both the research and the welfare portfolios is unusual and is probably deliberate characterisation: it puts the same person in charge of studying Anima and of caring for them. His background in the capital also places the Association's Iia branch inside a wider institutional structure rather than treating it as a purely local body, which is one of the few concrete hints the game has given about the world beyond the starting town.

Status

HoYoverse has published Herocrates' role, his origin, his departments, and his character art, but no abilities, stats, or story content. He appears in the official character roster on the game's Chinese site as 希罗拉底. A Japanese voice actor was credited for him in the Japanese-language introduction post.
