GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT places RE-X alongside a rag-tag crew of unsung soldiers who join the fight for humanity's survival. The cast was thin for months after the reveal and then opened up considerably with the release date announcement, which introduced three further characters at once.

Vii
Vii is a small, round Haro and RE-X's partner, accompanying him as he pilots Gundam Helix. The publisher describes it as a general-purpose intelligent assist unit built specifically for that machine, so it functions as part of the suit's support systems. Japanese material writes the name ヴィー, and some early English coverage rendered it Vee before the publisher settled on Vii.
Sofia Del Rio
Sofia Del Rio is described as the game's heroine, a mysterious young woman who keeps watch over RE-X's actions. The producers have said her character carries significant story implications they are not ready to discuss yet. She has her own page: see Sofia Del Rio.
April Freeman
April Freeman captains the Stellarvane, an independent special-duty vessel that carries out missions against the Apocalypse. She was introduced with the release date trailer and is the only announced character so far defined by a ship rather than a mobile suit. Nothing further about her or the Stellarvane has been published.
Big Paul
Big Paul leads a band of sand pirates who hunt the Apocalypse and raid wealthy transports to distribute supplies to settlers. He pilots BAU BAHLAM. See Big Paul.
Elaine Galath
Elaine Galath is a knight commander and an exceptional mobile suit pilot who leads her forces from the front lines rather than from behind them. She pilots CALICE. See Elaine Galath.
Unsung Soldiers
RE-X and his companions are framed as unsung soldiers thrown together against impossible odds. Additional crew members are expected to be detailed closer to release, and the official character listing still ends with a note that more are to come.
Key Art
The game's key art puts three of them together in one frame: RE-X standing in a pale flight suit with his helmet under one arm, Sofia seated beside him on broken rock, and Vii floating just behind them, with Gundam Helix looming out of the dark above. The same artwork was reused for the game's promotional card in the Gundam card game.
