GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT

GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is an upcoming high-mobility action game that offers a bold new take on the Gundam franchise. It unfolds in an entirely original universe, pairing a fast-paced cinematic story with intense, hard-hitting melee combat. Players take the role of RE-X, an ace pilot fighting for humanity's survival against the Apocalypse. The game is designed both as an evolution for longtime fans and as an accessible entry point for newcomers. It is presented in a cinematic, photorealistic style, was revealed during Summer Game Fest 2026, and releases on 5 March 2027.

Overview

The story follows RE-X, an ace pilot who boards the high-mobility mobile suit Gundam Helix and joins a rag-tag crew of unsung soldiers. Together they stand against the threat that endangers humanity. At RE-X's side are the Haro assist unit Vii and the heroine Sofia Del Rio. Later reveals added the ship captain April Freeman, the sand pirate leader Big Paul and the knight commander Elaine Galath, the last two with mobile suits of their own. The game is one half of the RG Project, a Bandai Namco initiative in which separate works share a single continuous world across generations. The other half is an announced anime, Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO, which is set roughly a century earlier. Each work is built to stand on its own, and GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT tells an original story that picks up long after the events the anime covers. Gameplay

Gameplay centers on fast, skill-driven Combat: high-speed mobility paired with hard-hitting melee, with fighting flowing between the ground and the air. Gundam Helix carries several weapon types, each with its own actions and skills, alongside tactical skills and the Apocalypse Units the game builds its loadouts around.

Those loadouts are the second half of the design. Gundam Helix can be rebuilt part by part, with weapon, thruster and outer frame slots all drawing on a shared generator budget, and its appearance changed through colors and cosmetic skins. Editions and Release

The game arrives on 5 March 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders are open, in a standard edition, a digital deluxe edition and a physical collector's edition built around a model kit, with an early unlock of the Earth Blue suit color for anyone who pre-orders.
