Combat in GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is fast and hard-hitting, built around the high mobility of Gundam Helix. It is a melee-focused, third-person action experience that rewards skill, mastery, and quick, decisive action.

High-Mobility Action
The game emphasizes high-speed, freely controlled movement. Players guide RE-X's suit through sprawling environments, chaining mobility and melee to overwhelm opponents. Battles play out both on the ground and in the air, and the developers have focused on making the transition between the two feel seamless, so RE-X can shift between ground assaults and aerial duels without breaking momentum.
Weapons and Tools
Gundam Helix has been shown using a large melee sword and a hook-shot that grabs enemies and rapidly pulls the suit toward them. Fights reward aggression and precise timing.
Weapon or Tool | Function |
|---|---|
Large sword | Primary melee weapon |
Hook-shot | Grabs enemies and pulls Gundam Helix toward them to close distance |
Enemies and Bosses
Pilots face enemy hordes, massive bosses, and seemingly insurmountable challenges. The announcement trailer shows a clash with a massive, dragon-like mechanical foe, and gameplay glimpses include monsters both similar in size to and larger than the mobile suit. See The Unknown Threat for the forces behind them. Rather than the humanoid mobile suits typical of the series, many foes are beast-like, with multiple limbs and animalistic shapes that resemble creatures such as dragons and scorpions. The developers say these designs started from the goal of making enemies that are fun to fight in an action game.
