Vice Beach

Added an official screenshot of a Vice Beach Police cruiser on the hotel strip
Vice Beach is the barrier island beach area sitting east of mainland Vice City in Grand Theft Auto VI, within Vice-Dale County. It is the resort and nightlife side of the metropolitan area, a strip of sand, Art Deco hotels and waterfront development separated from the mainland by the bay.
Vice Beach is attested in the game by its own police force. The Vice Beach Police Department appears on marked vehicle liveries in official screenshots, which is what establishes the area name rather than any map or written description. A Vice Beach flag also flies beside the entrance of Hotel Dixon, next to the Leonida state flag. Rockstar has not published a district map of the beach area, so the internal boundaries are not settled.
This matters for anyone reading across the wiki's location pages. The name "South Beach" used on some of them is real-world convention borrowed from Miami Beach rather than a name Rockstar has used, and it should not be read as an in-game district name. See South Beach for that distinction.
Area | What Is Confirmed |
|---|---|
The southern beachfront strip, described in Rockstar's own copy as having pastel Art Deco hotels and bright white sands. The most visually distinctive part of the beach area. | |
A residential and mixed-use area on the beach side, named in Rockstar's edition copy as the docking point for an Ultimate Edition boat. | |
The upscale island chain in the bay between the beach and the mainland. |
Landmark | Detail |
|---|---|
An Art Deco hotel on the beachfront road, identified by vertical neon lettering down the side of the building. Seen in Trailer 1. | |
A hotel on the same strip with a large pink neon sign, rebuilt for this game rather than carried over. | |
The Art Deco hotel strip | A continuous row of pastel hotels along the beachfront road, the signature image of the area in both trailers. |
The Vice Beach Police Department covers the area as its own jurisdiction, separate from the city force on the mainland and from the county department. Its distinct livery is visible on a pursuit cruiser in official screenshots. See law enforcement for how the jurisdictions fit together.
Vice City has appeared in the series before, and the beach area carries several returning names. Nothing on this page describes a previous game's version of these places. Only what Rockstar has shown or written for Grand Theft Auto VI is recorded here, and the layout, businesses and interiors of the earlier Vice City should not be assumed to carry over.
