Updated the demo wording for the end of Steam Next Fest and added a release timeline entry
Frostrail is planned for release in Early Access on Steam in Q4 2026, on Windows PC. As of October 2026, FakeFish and Shiro Unlimited have not announced an exact date, a price or any version for consoles, Mac or Linux. A free Demo was released for Steam Next Fest, which ran from October 19 to October 26, 2026.
The release window has narrowed over time but has stayed within 2026 since the game was revealed.

The developers said in April 2025 that their first priority is making the PC version smooth and stable for the Early Access release. Hardware details are on System Requirements.
The Steam store page lists these features for the game: Single-player, Multi-player, Co-op, Online Co-op, Steam Achievements and Family Sharing. It lists the genres Action, Adventure, Indie and Simulation, plus Early Access. Supported languages are English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian and Simplified Chinese. Co-op is covered on Multiplayer and Co-op.
The store's content note reads: "The game revolves around fighting, killing enemy creatures (wolves and humanoids for instance) and blood splatters." The store shows these regional ratings:

As of October 2026, no price has been announced. The developers said in April 2025 that the price would only be finalized at release, and the store's Early Access section says they plan to gradually raise it at the 1.0 release depending on the content and features added.
