Active Time Chats are optional party conversations during exploration. Story progress, items and visits to particular places can unlock them; obtaining a chocobo is one example.

Listening and replaying

Open the Active Time Chat list to replay an available conversation. A green marker identifies an unread chat, while a locked entry appears as question marks. There are 56 entries in the list.

These conversations add party interactions and story context without changing the main story. Check the list after major travel or recruitment events if you want to keep up with them.
