Count White is the lord of Saltern Harbor in Embers of the Uncrowned, introduced in NEXON's map preview of 27 August 2026. He is a former navy admiral, described as having once won an emperor's favor and now a has-been left on the sidelines, who rules a salt estate where the dead are packed in salt and do not rot. His story in the preview is the story of his daughter, and of what Bella made of his grief.

The Search for a Cure
The count had his daughter late. From childhood she carried a maternal hereditary illness, and the preview says she was not expected to live long. He hunted for a cure, and in that hunt he met Bella, who saw the illness as the same sickness that strikes the women of the royal house. Bella promised a cure, took the salt pans, and with mages in league with the Velseize Elves ran a secret rite meant to produce the Royal Glaze. The girl could not survive the rites and died.
The Stakes
Bella then offered the devastated count a terrible hope: his daughter could live again. She drove stakes into the salt pans, and the preserved corpses in that ground rose and walked. The count saw it, believed his daughter would return, and, in the preview's words, went mad for the stakes. His line closes the spoiler text: "If I have the stakes, my daughter comes back as many times as I want." The preview promises a cruel truth waiting for him, alongside Lady White's shut coffin and a torn-open Saltgrave.
