Revision 1

Eline is the protagonist and the only playable character in Edge of Memories. Official material describes her as "an itinerant Soul Whisperer" who travels the continent of Avaris as it falls to The Corrosion. After a mysterious encounter, a dark power wakes inside her and gives her the ability to control the Corrosion within her own body.

Overview

Soul Whisperer

As a Soul Whisperer, Eline moves between cities offering comfort to the people she meets. The reveal press release says she uses her abilities to heal the tormented inhabitants of a land under threat. The store copy adds that she battles the force turning fauna, flora and humans into "grotesque abominations".

Memory and Power

Eline's past is incomplete. A May 2025 developer post said she has fragmented memories of her past, and while the June 2026 demo was available a developer explained that she "has traded parts of her memory for powers", adding that she is not a full amnesiac. The October 2025 Story Trailer asked "How far would you go to remember who you are?" The wider premise is on the Story page.

In Combat

Eline fights in real time with combos of light and heavy attacks and perfect dodges, while her allies add their own skills. The store says her transformation brings "earth-shattering blows, which turn into a series of merciless executions", while the Story Trailer shows her struggle as she confronts her fearsome Black Beast mode. Details are on the Combat page.

Companions

Ysoris, "her unlikely mentor", and Kanta, "shaman prince of a lost tribe", travel and fight beside her. She meets Ysoris in the game's first chapter, the part covered by the June 2026 demo. She can also ride a Nekaroo, a feline mount that reaches places she cannot. See the Companions page.

Theme Music

Eline's Journey is both Eline's theme and the main theme of the plains. It was composed by Cédric Menendez, with lead vocals by Emi Evans, backing vocals by Marion Schneider and lyrics by Richard Evans. The piece was performed at the USG Festival orchestral concert and released as a video in December 2025. More on the score is on the Music and Soundtrack page.

Costumes

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes two alternate outfits for Eline: a feline outfit from the Nekaroo Costume Pack and La Messagère from the French History Costume Pack. See Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses.

Origins

In a May 2025 post, the studio said Eline first appeared in the early key art for Edge of Eternity and was originally meant to join that game's cast; in Edge of Memories she becomes the lead.
