11Edge of Memories is developed by Midgar Studio, a French studio based in Montpellier, and published by Nacon. It was revealed in February 2025 with a Fall 2025 window, slipped into 2026, and is now scheduled for December 3, 2026. Along the way the studio changed engines, ran a public demo and worked with several outside collaborators on story, character design and music.2233Midgar Studio4455Midgar Studio was founded in 2008 by Jérémy Zeler-Maury. Nacon acquired 100% of the studio in February 2022. Its previous games are Edge of Eternity, released in 2021, and Hover. Official figures on team size differ: a May 2025 developer post described a team "of almost 40", while the studio's own site says "some thirty".6677Engine and Technology8899The game runs on Unreal Engine 5. A June 2026 developer update said the studio switched from Unity, which it had used before, to Unreal for this project, and a developer reply in February 2025 said the game uses the engine's Lumen and Nanite features. The same June 2026 update said the combat system was built entirely new (see Combat).10101111Asked about it in June 2026, a developer said the game does not use generative AI.12121313Collaborators14141515NameRoleSource of creditRaita KazamaCharacter designerFebruary 2025 reveal press releaseSawako NatoriCollaborating writerFebruary 2025 reveal press releaseYasunori MitsudaComposer of the final themeAugust 2025 developer postMariam AbounnasrComposer of four tracksAugust 2025 developer postEmi EvansVocalistAugust 2025 developer postMarion Schneider (Mioune)Vocalist and lyricistAugust 2025 developer postCédric MenendezAudio director and lead composerAugust 2025 developer postGuillaume VeerLead narrative designer (in-house)May 2025 developer post1616The music team is covered in more detail on the Music and Soundtrack page, and the writers on the Story page.17171818Timeline19192020DateEventFebruary 2022Nacon acquires all of Midgar StudioFebruary 25 to 26, 2025Game revealed with a press release, a Steam page and the Reveal Trailer; Fall 2025 windowMarch 6, 2025Gameplay teaser shown at NACON Connect 2025May 14, 2025Developer post introduces the studio and Eline; release now expected at the end of 20252025Media get a first look at the publisher's Bigben Week 2025 eventAugust 20 to 21, 2025Gameplay trailer and first public hands-on at Nacon's gamescom 2025 booth; release moved to 2026August 29, 2025Developer post on the music and its composersOctober 23, 2025Story TrailerFebruary 27, 2026Developer post on the world and the CorrosionMarch 4, 2026NACON Connect 2026 showcase; the publisher's February 23 announcement listed the gameApril 28, 2026Partial soundtrack released to streaming platformsMay 7, 2026Four-minute Gameplay Overview TrailerJune 15 to 30, 2026Free demo on Steam during Steam Next FestJune 26, 2026Post-demo update on feedback and the engine changeSeptember 17, 2026Tokyo Game Show 2026: Japanese dub and a November 5 release date announced; pre-orders openOctober 13, 2026Release moved to December 3, 20262121Release Date Changes22222323The release target moved from Fall 2025 to the end of 2025, then to 2026, then to November 5, 2026, and finally to December 3, 2026.
