The Collective is one of the three playable factions in D.O.R.F. Real-Time Strategic Conflict, alongside the Union of Imperial States and the Warband Tribes. Its subtitle on the official faction page is "The new world order", and the press kit calls it technologically sophisticated and mysterious.

The game is unreleased as of September 2026. The details below come from the official lore, development updates and developer statements, and are subject to change.
On the official faction page, the Collective's emblem is labelled "Triple Consortium". The July 2026 development update also refers to Consortium mobile bases that must deploy to operate, a description that matches the mobile base walkers the May 2026 update gave to the Collective. The faction page and the April 2026 faction video both still use the name the Collective. As of September 2026 the developers had not said whether Consortium is an older name, a formal name for the same faction, or a planned rename.
According to the official faction description, the Collective began in the east as a series of private enterprises and local militias that rose from humble origins and merged into a single entity. This new state is now the single most advanced fighting force on the planet. It uses re-engineered technologies from the Old World to stay ahead of its rivals, and it expands quickly using enormous mobile refineries and walking structures, backed by what the description calls the best trained soldiers and pilots on the continent.
Within living memory its people were simple farmers and workers. With the rapid industrialization of its cities and its new military strength, the government has turned toward expansion, and the description suggests no rival power may be able to stop it.
An official video introducing the Collective was published on the official YouTube channel on April 6, 2026.
The developers' descriptions present the Collective as a faction built around mobile bases. The May 2026 development update describes mobile base walkers and mobile factories, and the July 2026 update says that Consortium mobile bases must deploy before they can operate, one of two reasons it gave (with deployable field artillery) for finishing the unit deploy logic that month. Because its structures move, the developers said Pipelines and Conveyor Lines would not even be practical for the Collective.
Since the May 2026 rework, the Collective is the only faction that uses Power. It is not a true resource in the usual sense. Mobile power generators supply power to advanced Tesla Units and make nearby production structures more efficient. The developers described Power as a binary system: what matters is keeping a generator in range, not staying above a numerical threshold.
The Collective also uses Fuel. In June 2026 the developers confirmed that every faction will use Fuel because it is spent on units. The wider resource system is covered on Resources and Logistics.
The Collective's supply system adapts the team's original Forklift concept to aircraft, to suit a base that walks. As described in the May 2026 update:
Element | Planned Role |
|---|---|
Mobile logistics hubs | Supply the mobile factories, using automated aerial drones to deliver resources between nearby facilities. |
Logistics walkers | Construct static defensive buildings such as walls, gates and turrets. |
Aircraft supply lines | When logistics walkers are far apart, supply lines between them can be set up using larger aircraft, allowing the player to run several bases and outlying resource bases. |
Mobile power generators | Power Tesla Units and boost nearby production while in range. |
As of September 2026 no Collective factory names or Annex combinations had been published. The July 2026 update that introduced the Annex System gave examples only for the Empire and the Warband. How Annexes will work with mobile Collective factories had not been explained.
The following units and unit types have been tied to the Collective in development updates. Unit statistics are placeholders, according to the developers. Units with no stated faction are listed on the Units page.
Unit | What the Developers Have Said |
|---|---|
Tesla Units | Advanced units that need power from a mobile power generator. |
Mobile power generators | Supply power to Tesla Units and improve efficiency in nearby production structures. |
Mobile base walkers | Mobile base structures described in May 2026; a July 2026 update says Consortium mobile bases must deploy to operate. |
Logistics walkers | Build walls, gates and turrets, and can be linked by aircraft supply lines. |
Mobile logistics hubs | Keep mobile factories supplied. |
Aerial drones | Automated drones that carry resources between nearby facilities. |
The faction lore also mentions enormous mobile refineries and walking structures, which fits the mobile base design, but specific refinery units had not been named as of September 2026.
As of September 2026 the developers had not published the Collective's full roster, its tech tree, its factory names or any unit statistics, and had not explained the Consortium name. Its campaign story and characters also remained unannounced. Shared systems such as Veterancy, Support Powers and Naval Warfare apply to all factions and have their own pages.
