Takafumi Noma
Noma began his career as a programmer and spent about ten years programming action games. He later directed the strategy RPG Unicorn Overlord, where he also worked on scenario and character design. He left Vanillaware in March 2025 and set up IGNISPHERE, as both a source brand and a development studio, at Monochrome.
On DAWNGAZER he is the director and the original creator of the world. He described his role as doing a bit of everything: he designs the characters, draws key poses, sets creative direction and handles final supervision and adjustments. He also said he is not making everything alone, and that parts of the scenario will be written collaboratively. Long-time collaborators cover areas such as animation and effects.
Monochrome
Monochrome reached its 15th anniversary in September 2026, the same month it launched IGNISPHERE with Good Smile Company. The company's business covers game work from asset production and engineering to full contract development, in-game animation and video for TV and live events, and education work with vocational schools. Its representative director and president is 出口智彦.
Good Smile Company
Good Smile Company publishes DAWNGAZER and handles its promotion. The Tokyo-based company, best known for figures such as its Nendoroid line, also acts as the licensing contact for IGNISPHERE merchandise and promotes the brand together with Monochrome.
Development status
At the reveal, Noma said the framework of the game was largely in place and that the team now hoped to make content production more efficient. He said the team is aiming for a compact structure with generous resources, and said progress was running at more than twice the pace he had expected. He also said he would like to make another strategy RPG in the future within IGNISPHERE, but DAWNGAZER is an action RPG and comes first.
